Runaway

The book "Runaway' was written by author Wendelin Van Draanen. All of Wendelin Van Draanen's books have an interesting  Runaway is a spin off of Wendelin Van Draanen's famous book series Sammy Keyes. Usually Wendelin Van Draanen writes about mysteries this time she changed it up and wrote an amazing realistic fiction.

        

This time about a 12 year old girl named Holly who is a foster child. She has been in many different foster homes before. Holly is in her fifth foster home two years have passed since her mother died. She has gone through being mistreated by her foster parents time after time she finally decides she has had enough and runs away. She goes on a tremendously life changing adventure.  She is trying to stay safe, find food and shelter while dodging police officers who are looking for her all at the same time. In this story we travel the world with Holly as she journals all of her thoughts in a journal that was given to her by her English teacher and spills out painful stories that have happened to her all throughout her life.

I reccomend this book for anyone to read. As you read the book you start to learn more about Holly's story and everytime you end a chapter you want to know more because this book has a really good message behind it all. The ending of the book was my favorite part and the book is worth reading so you can get to that part.
