The Door of No Return

This book is "The door of no return" but I like to call it the book of no return because this the book contains 394 pages and it took me a long time to finish. I'll get straight to the point. I did not love this book, which is disappointing because I wanted to. Certain elements of the book were quite well done, such as the setting, and the character Ashley. But despite an intriguing premise, the pacing was too uneven, and there were some plot points that did not ring true to me. I found Zac, the main character, to be naive, which took me out of the story too much. I liked Zac, and I was rooting for him, but the story was too much in his head, and an adventure needs more dialogue and action than thinking.

I really was into the book until around page one hundred. They thing started to trail off. Like I said it did have some good parts and most of the story took place in on his thoughts. I wish there was more interaction between the characters.

My over all review is 2 stars out of 5 just for the actual lack of sense of adventure and interaction. The book does not make you feel like your part of it or that he's actually accomplishing anything. I really wanted to like this book but it just fell flat.

The Door of No Return

My book is called The Door of No Return; it is by the author Sarah Mussi. This book is about a boy is named Zack, who has to find a lost treasure that his ancestors left to him because he is the last of the princes since his father is not there with him anymore. Some of Sarah Mussi books are related because they are things that are true but also thing’s that are made up. But when you read the book it seems so true and you actually believe it for a second that’s the cool pat of the book it’s exciting.

After Zack’s fathers dies from a mugging, his father leaves him a diary that only he has, he is to go and find a lost treasure that was left a long time ago by his ancestors, in Ghana. He doesn’t know that he is the last of the princes. But he finds out when he start’s to read the diary that his father has left. In the beginning he has to live with foster parent but, he’s been sent to a foster home for children who do not have a home they switched him because he was accused of stealing a phone. But he then learns that he is being followed and tracked down by people who want to get the treasure before him. But they do not have the diary that Zack has. So Zack has to get out of London and go to Ghana, and find the lost treasure that was let by his ancestors king Baktu.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read adventurous books. Because I think that this was actually a good book, I couldn’t stop putting it down cause you want to know what is going to happen next. Some books that Sarah Mussi has written are siege and angel dust. I have not read any on these but I’m thing of doing it because the door of no return was extremely good and it was my first book I have ever read by her.  But this book is full of adventure, sadness and some ancient history facts.  There are a lot of characters that I think that people would like. And that is why I would recommend this book. The book is so good because you don’t know what is going to happen next and so you read until you want to find out about what happens next. For example when he is close to finding the treasure there are people who get into his was. And you’re like oh! What’s going to happen next so you start reading more? That’s what happened to me.
