Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck

The book Diary of a Wimpy Kid Hard Luck by Jeff Kinney is very good. Being the 8th book in the series, Hard Luck is the newest Diary of a Wimp Kid at this moment. The whole series is very entertaining and doesn’t get boring. Hard Luck is a realistic fiction book that is set up like a diary about a kid named Greg Heffley. This book, Hard Luck, is about a section of Greg’s life, Hard Luck isn’t the best Diary of a Wimpy Kid but it is surely a good read.. Greg’s best friend, Rowley, has ditched him, finding new friends for Greg proves to be a difficult task. This book is based in the present and it does not say where Greg lives. The main character is a boy named Greg Heffley and the other main character, his best friend, is named Rowley Jefferson. The book is written in a diary format in a first person point of view that is very entertaining. The theme for the part of the book could be that you have to move on because Greg’s best friend, Rowley, ditches him and Greg is forced to find new friends.

The book, Hard Luck, is about a young kid in middle school named Greg that has to find new friends because his best friend, Rowley, ditched him. The main two characters would be Greg Heffley and Rowley Jefferson. Greg has two parents named Susan and Frank.  Greg does have two brothers and their names are Manny and Rodrick. Greg Heffley is going through middle school and has to go through new experiences. A person that Greg doesn’t like at all is Fregley because Fregley is strange, Fregley will pick a scab and then he will disgustingly eat it. Greg has gotten to the point that he won’t even accept any of Rowley’s opinions anymore. Rowley thinks that Greg is just mad because Rowley has a girlfriend; that is why the two are so mad at each other. Later in the book, Greg has a magic 8-ball and he starts talking and asking it all sorts of questions.

A part that I found intriguing was when Greg found out he was flunking classes so he decided that he would be a better student from now on, I like this because it shows that you should always try your best; a few lines from the book are “I decided that, starting today, I was going to be MRS. Norton’s best student (Kinney 191).

I would personally recommend this book to people because it is very entertaining and it is a very easy read. I would recommend this book to a younger audience because like I said, it is an easy read. It is an easy read because of how it is written, it is written for a younger audience but older people can read it for entertainment. For me, this book was a page turner, it had me reading until I finished the book. This book was a page turner because it is a simple read and is very amusing. This book Is definitely a book to pick up if you want a fast, easy, and fun read. It is written like a diary which means it will be an interesting read and it will be a fun read because there are small drawings along with the story to help explain what is going on.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck

This yet another book of Diary of a wimpy kid series. At the beginning of the series Greg Hefley the main character just started middle school, now Greg is in 8th grade the end! Well almost. In all his adventures in these books his best friend Rowley has always been there by his side weather it means getting trouble, hurt and most commonly embarrassed. But lately Rowley hasn't been around, but it couldn’t help that Rowley has a new Girlfriend named Abigail. Problem is though that Abigail doesn't like Rowley’s Friends too much infect she doesn't really like them at all. Not only that but she doesn't like how they hang out or where. She hates what they do for fun! Worst of all she is changing Rowley...a lot. Greg’s losing his best pal and missing him.

Greg’s mom tells him that friends move on, but unfortunately for Greg family is forever. This book tells all the struggles Greg has and is noticing without Rowley they have become 10 times harder. Not only does Greg have to deal with his Mom, Dad and brothers but also relatives. Not only does Greg have to put up with his horrible family but now there are more of them. Greg’s always wondered why his mom has forced him and his brothers to cherish each other. Will now he is finding out why, his Aunts haven’t gotten along at all and to mention he hasn't seen them in years! Well now he has, and his family has gotten even crazier. As much as Greg gets annoyed with his boundary less family he has learned and importantly found a few things. Overall this book was just as good as others and keeps you desiring more from the laugh out loud books.
