Catching Fire

The book “Catching fire ” was written by Suzanne Collins. I personally think this is a good book, because it's just like the movie. Suzanne has seventeen books but I think this one is the the best. The book is good because the book is about civilians playing a dangerous game trying to kill other civilians.

In the book there are teams trying to kill each other until one team wins and to make sure they are killing the other teams the cameras are watching them. But before they would go fight the teams would go practice and then get interview by the host.

I like this because it's interesting and it's a good book to read during reading time. This book goes with a couple more books because there's more of these kind of books. This book was probably written for the future. This is a really good book but if you don't have time to read a book, don't read this book just go watch the movie.

Catching Fire

I read Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins because the book was a roller coaster of emotions, the hunger games (book one) was an attention getter creating popularity for the series. You can purchase this book at http://www.amazon.com/Catching-Fire-Second-Hunger-Games/dp/0545586178. The theme for this book is to never give up on what you believe in. Family always comes first no matter the circumstances.

Catching Fire is about Katniss Everdeen that lives in district 12 with peeta who were the victories of the last hunger games. They were gaining popularity and had to go back into the games against the other victories of the games. The games created a rebellion that Katniss didn’t know about; she broke out of the games to a safe place known as district 13…

I would recommend this book to a person who is into action, adventure, rebellion, romance, “nail biting thriller”. This book is number two out of a series of three; the third book is Mocking Jay.

Catching Fire

The book is titled The Hunger Games: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. She is the author of this book’s prequel: The Hunger Games and sequel: Mockingjay. Like the prequel, this book is an Action/Science Fiction book. The message I got out of it is to always try to amend your mistakes and stand for what you think is right. In this book, Katniss and Peeta have just survived the Hunger Games and have returned home with riches and rewards, but their victory could lead to an enormous rebellion outbreak throughout the Districts of Panem. Will they be able to fix their mistake?

After Katniss and Peeta chose to both commit suicide by eating poisonous fruit instead of fighting each other to the death, the Gamemakers had no other choice but to let them both win. The citizens of Panem would not allow for there to be no victor. This is a sign of the Capitol’s weakness to the citizens of Panem’s 12 Districts, and many of them think that they should rebel against the Capitol. President Snow has threatened Katniss and Peeta to promote peace and make things right throughout Panem, or their families will die. President Snow sends Katniss and Peeta into another Hunger Games, this time called the Quarter Quell, with previous winners both as punishment and to hopefully restore peace among the 12 Districts. Can Katniss and Peeta survive another round of the deadly Hunger Games and save their families by preventing another deadly rebellion? “’Safe to do what?’ he says in a gentler tone. ‘Starve? Work like slaves? Send their kids to the reaping? You haven’t hurt people-you’ve given them an opportunity. They just have to be brave enough to take it. There’s already been talk in the mines. People who want to fight. Don’t you see? It’s happening! It’s finally happening!”(Collins 99). Gale (Katniss’s best friend) is telling Katniss that any future uprising would not be her fault. It’s what the people of the Districts have been waiting for: a chance to change their lives for the better. He’s trying to convince her to try to encourage the uprising, not prevent it. It is intriguing to me because of how much Gale likes the idea of an uprising.

As with the previous book in this series, I loved this book! It was suspenseful and intense. This book is for readers who like books with adventure, suspenseful moments and realistic settings. So many times I couldn’t help but read just a little bit more to see what interesting thing will happen, but then be led right back to the same feeling. Collins did a great job in making the book riveting. This book has left me more than eager to read the next book in the series.

Catching Fire

The author of this book is Suzanne Collins. This is the second book to “Hunger Games”. There’s also a third book called “Mocking jay”. This series in now known to be one of the most famous teen series yet.  This theme of this book is loyalty and fear against your enemies, friends, and family. This is defiantly the most upbeat book out of all three.

Katniss is now living in district twelve with her family. She has riled up capital by threatening to swallow the piousness berries in order to force the capital to allow two victors.  The president of the capital decides to do something he has never done before. This terrifies the districts once again and causes one district to even rebel.  Katniss’s whole world is about to change, and she’ll have to fight to keep what she loves.

“Catching Fire” was an adventurous book that satisfied your craving for finding out what happened to Katniss after “The Hunger Games”.  Katniss and previous tributes are once again thrown into the arena by the capital, which was a twist on the story. You’re immediately intrigued by Katniss’s choice to try to keep Peeta alive. This story is eventful and exhilarating in every aspect of the book. You won’t want to put down this page turning novel. Will Katniss protect Peeta? Will the Capital play fair?  Or will it focus strictly on eliminating Katniss?

Catching Fire

I really enjoyed the book “Catching Fire”.  I chose to read this book because I really liked “The Hunger Games” too. The Author of the book was Suzanna Collins, I have never read any other books of hers be sides “Hunger Games” so I would not know how it compares to her other books.  I would assume that she likes to write books with kind of theme which is slightly sad but very overcoming in the end.  I liked this book a lot because of how I never know what will happen next, she is so creative that anything can appear or happen to the main character without any warning. The theme of this book in particular was about over you can prevail and overcome any obstacle that come in your path because that is what katniss does in her nearly impossible to escape life. In the story it is about Katniss the main character and Peeta who won the last hunger games and their efforts to be safe and not ever have to deal with the Capital again until the ruler of everything gets involved.  He isn’t happy with them for his own reasons and tries to get rid of them with a new hunger games.

What happened in the book “Catching Fire” all started when Katniss was visited by the ruler of the whole country, President Snow.  This happened right before her victory tour and he came to her to tell her that there was a problem.   All of the districts from one through 12 were rioting and starting to fight back because of Katnisses little berry incident with Peeta. Then once they started the victory tour Peeta popped the question and proposed to Katniss. Time went on and the tour ended then President Snow, as stubborn as he was, didn’t leave Katniss and Peeta  alone.   President Snow decided that the next hunger games will be a bit different.  President Snow did this by instead of electing new kids to compete he forced past victors to fight again in the 3rd Quarter Quell, which forced Peeta and Katniss to fight again.  Once Peeta and Katniss arrived back into the area they teamed up with two other contenders, Finnick and Mags. Later on out of nowhere, one of her fellow teammates, Peeta , came out  and cut her arm deeply then ran away. Then Katniss passed out from the injury on her arm.  Katniss wakes up and realizes she that a lot has happened.

I like this book for many different reasons, some that I have already said. This book  was very well written and is sort of relevant to me because I am also a teenager such as the main characters. I just don’t deal with anything like what they have to go through.  I would have to recommend this book to anyone who likes a little excitement in their reading especially because of all the fights and cliff hangers that make me just want to keep reading.  The plot of the book was also very spontaneous alone with a ending that you would never be able to guess. This sad book it truly overcoming in the end where everything is brightened up and the harsh tragic events begin to be replace with what every read would rather have (a happier ending). If you do decide you want to read this book I strongly recommend that you read the first book “Hunger games” first or else you probably won’t understand anything that happens or who is important and who’s not.  Just be careful though because since I started reading I couldn’t stop and now I can’t wait to read the next.

Catching Fire

The book i read was the hunger games catching fire by Suzanne collins. This book is one of the second books in the hunger games series she has written. It starts off in a futuristic type setting that has a very rich and a very poor side the poor side is divided up into districts 1 to 12. Who each year have to battle in a event called the hunger games where you have to stay alive while killing other people from each others districts. In this book it is the 50th anniversary for the hunger games so they have all of the victors from the previous games come and battle it out in the arena once more.

There are 2 main characters in this story Katniss everdeen a skilled bow hunter who stood up for her sister in the drawing of the games. Peta a bakers son who was from the same district as Katniss that was chosen to be in the games as well. these two characters face very big obstacles in this story, like trying to stay alive and trying to protect what is right and tons of other action packed things further along in the story.the big idea of the story is how Peeta and Katniss are lovers who were forcefully drawn together in the first book by them being both selected for the tributes in the pasts game. There is only one victor who can prevail this time so they have tosses and turns to see who is the one who will stay alive in the arena and who will come out in pieces.

the book was very action packed and it left me hanging on each sentence making me want to read more and more of the story non stop which is one of the big reasons why i liked it .It also made me think about and visualize the story as i read it which is a great factor because its like you're in a movie or actually there with the characters. you should definitely get this book its a fun read and is very good if you are one of those people who doesn't want the book to stop because there is a whole series for you to read full of cliffhangers and great storylines.

Catching Fire

I read the book Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, the second book in her Hunger Game trilogy. Catching Fire is about Katniss who is experiencing life as a victor because she won the Hunger Games in the first book. The second book explores the idea of an uprising by the districts to overthrow the capitol based on the horrible way the capitol treats the people living in the districts. Katniss finds herself as a symbol for the uprising because of the way she won the Hunger Games in the first book. The capitol recognizes Katniss as a symbol and tries to get rid of her by having a “special” Hunger Games known as the Quarter Quell. Katniss soon finds herself fighting for her life again on a day to day basis. In the end of the book Katniss is rescued from the arena hosting the Hunger Games, and finds herself in an even bigger mess that the third book in the trilogy will hopefully conclude.

My review on Catching Fire is that I thought it was a very well written book that kept me nervous and kept me guessing. I like the way Suzanne Collins throws in sudden twists because it keeps me on the edge of my seat, and is impossible to guess. I think the best books are the ones where you do not know what will come next and everything is a surprise. The book does a great job painting pictures in my head, so it is almost like watching a movie. It was enjoyable to read.

I would recommend reading this book if you are in for a good thriller. It keeps you guessing and keeps you entertained as well as interested. You will never get bored while reading Catching Fire.
