The Lost Hero

The book I'm reading is called The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan. Rick Riordan has also written Percy Jackson series and many Greek mythology books that all connect in someway and they are just one huge sequel of Greek mythology heroes and how they are connected. So meaning by they are all connected The Lost Hero is somehow connected to Percy Jackson in some way so if you read it you'll see many connections that you never knew about.

The Lost Hero is about a boy named Jason and he woke up on a bus with Piper and Leo but apparently Piper is his “girlfriend” and Leo is his “best friend”. The main characters are Jason, Leo, and Piper. Jason doesn't remember who he is and who these two people are but when they all wake up they realized that they are going on a field trip. They talk about the last thing they remember and they seem to only remember small pieces of their past life. When they arrive at the museum they face their first monster a wind beast but then Annabeth and Argus come and save them and bring them to Camp-Half-Blood. Camp-Half-Blood is a safe camp were half bloods aka demigods go so they can train and remain safe from the monsters on the outside world. Jason and Piper and Leo get there and Annabeth introduces them all and the kids ask who are their parents meaning who is their godly parent. Leo gets claimed as son of Hephaestus god of blacksmiths and fire and Piper is daughter of Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty. Then Rachel the oracle tells everyone a line from the prophecy about how demigods must unite and face a certain enemy. The camp sends Jason and his friends on a dangerous quest to restore the world and the gods and if Jason takes the risk his mind well be restored. The main idea of this book revolves the past of Greeks and Romans and the Athena Parthenos a stature said to bring justice for both sides but no Athena child has ever brought it back.

I like the book because there is so much action and you on every page you learn about your main characters more and more. Another point is you learn about the main characters flaws and their life stories and how in someway they are totally different or connected. There are also many different parts in the story and it might be complicated but if you keep reading it'll all make sense. This book would be good for people who like action and like mysteries and greek mythology. This book would be good for people who are just starting to read about Greek mythology because this book also gives good info about Greek mythology. So please give this book a chance and read it trust me it's worth your time to read this book. It also isn't that hard to read and it has decent amount of pages so you won't be bored of the book for being too long.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

A book I read this trimester was "Percy Jackson: Sea OfMonsters" by Rick Riordan. This book was probably my favorite book I read this Trimester. And I can relate to the book already because I watched the movie. Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon, he's a half-blood which means he's half human and half God. Poseidon is the God of water and apart of the "big three" which are the most powerful gods, Zeus and Hades, Zeus is the most powerful and past a law that gods can't see their children. At first Percy didn't know who he was and didn't know he was a god and then he eventually found out who he was and went on a quest to the underworld to save his mother and eventually prove that he didn't steal Zeus's lightning bolt.

However they tell about what happened then in a different Percy Jackson Sequel. At the beginning he was already famous around the half-blood camp because he already saved the world. The camp was protected by a tree that had a force field so that other creatures can't come in, but what Percy didn't know was the tree was his first cousin! The tree was a girl named Talia, she was the daughter of Zeus and was killed by a cyclops trying to get to the camp and she sacrificed her life to protect her friends Anabeth, Luke and somebody else. But one day Percy found out he had a half brother by Poseidon which is half cyclops and that day the tree was poisoned by Luke and a robotic bull.

So Percy, Grover, Anabeth and Tyson went on a quest to find a fleas, which can bring anyone or anything back to life, it's going to be a hard task though, it's guarded by a huge cyclops. When they were on their quest, Grover was captured by Luke and his crew. So Percy, Anabeth and Tyson went to meet with Hermes, which is Luke's father who he hates, and asked where they can find Luke and Hermes told them he was leaving shore on his yacht. Hermes gave them some supplies and protection against Luke. Percy got caught up with the yacht and got captured and got put in a brig and they used magical tape to escape and found out Grover was on another boat ahead to get the fleas to bring Zeus evil father back to life to get vengeance on his sons which killed him.

When they escaped the brig they got a a little life boat on their way toward the fleas, while they were on they're way they got caught in the sea of monsters and was swallowed by it practically. It was gross then they ran into Clarice and her crew and her ship and went threw the stomach with the ship and busted out. When they made it to the island the cyclops didn't have good vision and they found Grover dressed as a cyclops, then they made a plan to take the fleas, but when they escaped Luke and his crew were already out their waiting then took the fleas and shot Tyson for Percy to live. Then Luke brought Cronus back to life with the Fleas, Percy escaped with his sword was at war with Cronus and sliced a hole through his heart and killed him again. Tyson came back to life because when he was shot he fell in the water which healed him and they returned to the camp with the fleas and brought Talia back to life as a human being!

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

The book I read was the lightning thief. Lightning thief is about a boy named Percy that has ADHD.  one day a teacher of his turned into a fairy and attacked him asking for a lightning bolt that he stole. Confused his friends come to the rescue and he is sent to a camp for demigods called camp half blood. Demigods are half human half god at camp half blood he finds out the dad he never knew is the god Poseidon, God of the sea. Also Percy if being framed for stealing a master lightning bolt that belongs to the god of gods Zeus. Zeus gives him a matter of days to return his lightning bolt or else Zeus and Percy's father Poseidon will go to war with each other. So Percy and two other friends he made while it camp half blood go on a mission to try to talk to the gods that Percy does not have the lightning bolt.  The friends of Percy are Annabeth and Grover Annabeth is daughter of Athena. And Grover is a satyr and is also Percy's protector. Together they go through many obstacles and fight through many encounters to prove he is innocent and stop the war of the gods.

Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse

I read Percy Jackson The Titan's Curse, by Rick Riordan. Rick Riordan has also written Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief, and Percy Jackson The Sea Of Monsters. Percy Jackson The Titan's Curse is Different from his other books. In his first book he wrote about Percy Jackson and how he just found out that his mad was Poseidon and he's a Demi-God.

In this book he wrote about Percy, Grover, Annabeth, and Thalia trying to protect some little kids that don't know there Half-Bloods and during their adventure they get attacked by a monster that kidnaps Annabeth and Artemis and the gang is trying to get them to safety because they're being hunted down and almost killed. While in the other books it's mainly about Percy but now it's about someone else other than Percy so it's way different.

The basic plot of the book is when Annabeth and Artemis get kidnapped by a monster. It's major theme is Mythology and Gods. The story is basically about Percy and the gang trying to get some little half-bloods named The Diangelo Kids that don't know there half-bloods yet but the gang is trying to get them to camp half-blood because there are monsters trying to kill them so the gang just wants to keep them safe. The main characters are Percy Jackson, Thalia, and Annabeth. The significant major conflict is between Percy and Thalia arguing about Annabeth. One major conflict is between The Diangelo Kids arguing and deciding if they even want to go with the gang to camp half blood. The central idea or theme of the book is about half bloods, Mythology, Gods, and Goddesses.

I highly recommend you read this book as soon as possible because it is literally the best book I've ever read. You should also read it now because even though this book came out a few years ago I believe it's still popular and people are still rushing to read it. If you're one of those people that doesn't like a lot of mythology and gods and that kind of stuff  do not recommend this books because it has a lot about mythology and gods so you should save your time and choose a book like Champion, because in my opinion it's my second favorite book but it could be your first.

House of Hades

Heroes of Olympus: House of Hades, is a fiction book based off Greek mythology by Rick Riordan; the fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series. This book focuses on the first person viewpoints of Seven different heroes; these heroes being half human and half gods, called half-bloods. The heroes are trying to seal the doors because if they don't then nobody will die which is causing chaos, mayhem, and destruction. This is one of the most action packed and exciting books I've ever read.

Rick Riordan uses the first person viewpoints for seven characters yet manages to mix all of these into one coherent story that makes sense. Each of the seven main heroes get their respective spotlight and time to shine. You're going to become attached to at least one of the characters along the way. Their adventures to save the Earth from evil forces coming out of the Underworld is told intriguingly, interestingly, and coherently. It all makes sense and comes together at the end and will leave you satisfied.

I would recommend this book to people who like Greek Mythology or fiction books in general. Rick Riordan does an amazing job mixing in seven different viewpoints and tying in a story that spans five different books throughout multiple years. The story and characters are awesome and it has a lot of humor in it. This is a great read and you should add it to your summer reading list.

The Blood of Olympus

The Blood of Olympus is the last book in "The Heroes of Olympus" series by Rick Riordan, the author of the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series.

Fortunately, The Blood of Olympus is just as good (if not better) than Riordan's previous books, and it is a great one to end the series with. Side Note: I apologize for how much of the plot and story I must leave out in this review to avoid spoilers.

The seven Greek and Roman heroes (Annabeth, Percy, Jason, Piper, Hazel, Frank and Leo) are on their way to the Acropolis in Athens, Greece to stop the evil goddess Gaea from waking and destroying the Earth and all mortals on it. All of this as 3 other heroes (Nico, Reyna, and Coach Hedge) must return to the U.S.A as fast as possible to prevent a war between the Greek and Roman camps; of course while being chased by a (literal) giant Marksman; "The hunter who never rests" (Riordan 33).  This book (and the rest of the series for that matter) is a fun adventure all the way through and never fails to hold the reader's attention. The series as a whole has a great way of expressing it's 3rd person omniscient POV by having each alternating chapter with a different view/character; this style of writing is executed wonderfully. It is easy to recommend this book to any reader who loves a sense of adventure and doesn’t mind some learning about ancient mythology (which by the way is fun to learn about from Riordan). The Blood of Olympus (and the rest of the series) deserves to be read immediately.

The Lost Hero

The book I read was The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan. Rick Riordan has written multiple series for example the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus series both very successful. The theme of this book is Fantasy/Adventure with lots of action. This book compared to the other books Riordan written is different because this book has multiple protagonists making the book very unique to his other titles.

What happened in the book was there is a boy named Jason who appears out of nowhere on the bus and has no memory of who he was. On the bus he meets Leo Valdez and Piper Mclean two Greek demigods (Half Human Half God). Also he meets coach hedge the demigod’s protector undercover as the gym teacher on the school field trip to the Grand Canyon. When storm spirits come and attack the demigods at the canyon. The storm spirits are able to kidnap coach hedge to prison. After hedge is captured a mysterious girl named Annabeth is there to take them to a demigod camp where there are assigned a mission to rescue the goddess Hera from a prison. They ride cross country on a metal dragon. On the flight they run into many obstacles that could kill them. Overtime they manage to free the goddess from her prison and bring peace to the gods.

I would recommend this book to people of all ages because I believe it has something for everybody to love. Also if you are into action/adventure/fantasy this is your type of book. If you do not like this book than there is other books in the series you will enjoy.

The Mark of Athena

Rick Riordan has written a lot of books based on different types of mythology such as The Son of Neptune and The Battle of the Labyrinth.

The mark of Athena is about a group of seven demi-gods. Greek and Roman. The book starts of as the seven demi-gods land at the Roman camp. After some peace talks with the romans the captain of the Argo II Leo was posed by a ghost and made to shoot at the roman camp.

I enjoyed this book because I enjoy mythology. I also enjoy the way the author switches point of views between the characters. Also this book is kind of the turning point in the series and a lot of important things happened so there was never a dull moment.

I would suggest this book to people because it is an easy to read book. It also doesn’t require the reader to know much or if anything at all about Greek/ Roman Mythology. It also has a very good plot

The Mark of Athena

The book I read was The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan. Riordan is the author of the Percy Jackson series and the new Heroes of Olympusseries. The mark of Athena is the 3rd book of the series. The theme of this book is Greek mythology in modern days. The genre is fantasy fiction and action. This book compared to the other books is different because the story is told through 4 demigods on 3rd person omniscient. The mark of Athena will have readers wanting to read each page after page of plot twist and turns.

In the mark if Athena they are 7 demigods Leo, Jason, Percy, Annabeth, Frank, Hazel, Piper. However we only get to hear the story from Percy, Leo, Piper, and Annabeth. In the series the heroes of Olympus they were 2 books already out before the mark of Athena the Lost Hero and the Son ofNeptune. Those 2 books led up to the mark of Athena introducing each character and their background. Jason, Leo, and piper came from the lost hero. Hazel, Frank, and Percy came from the son of Neptune. However Percy was the main protagonist in the previous series Percy Jackson and the Olympians this series was told in 1st person through Percy Jackson. Also Annabeth was a main character in the series but not the protagonist. In this new series Percy Jackson of camp half-blood (a place where Greek demigods live and train to survive) and Jason grace of camp Jupiter (a place where roman demigods live and train) have their memories wiped and placed into different camps by Hera the goddess. After some time they both regain their memories and Leo builds a ship and goes to camp Jupiter to pick up the 3 heroes to fulfill the great prophecy. The great prophecy is 7 demigods of different camps must work together and stop the earth goddess Gaea from awakening from her sleep so by now they all know who is going. So when they pick up the 3 demigods the romans attack thinking the Greeks were going to attack them. However 3 demigods still make it to the ship. Now that the 7 demigods are together they must sail to Rome to defeat twin giant monsters sent by Gaea to kill the demigods but when the demigods arrive at Rome Annabeth has a solo mini quest on her own the mark of Athena. Since her mother is Athena the goddess of wisdom Annabeth has to do it alone this pains Percy Jackson because Annabeth is her girlfriend and does not want her to die because all the children of Athena have failed the quest to find their mothers statue. Annabeth finds her statue but it is being guarded by Athena’s enemy Arachne the mortal turned spider woman by Athena after she was talking bad stuff about Athena and all children of Athena have a terrible phobia of spiders due to that. So Annabeth is horribly terrified but she snaps out of it and think of a plan to stop her so she tricks arachne into making her own trap out of webbing so Annabeth gets the statue and her friends find her and take the statue but arachne shakes the place till the floor collapses opening up the pit to tarteres (a pit filled with horrible monsters) arachne falls in and Annabeth is hanging off the ledge and Percy helps her but they both fall into the pit leaving their friends behind. The book ends with the 5 demigods searching for the demigods the statue is in their possession now.

I recommend this book to others because it has something for everybody. Like, romance, drama, action/adventure, comedy, and fantasy. If you hadn’t the heroes of Olympus book 1 and 2 also if you hadn’t read the Percy Jackson series I would NOT read this book. You will be completely lost so I would take your time.

Fun facts

Percy and Annabeth are the only main characters to appear in both series. These 7 demigods have their own powers. Percy is the son Poseidon making him a very powerful demigod. He has multiple water powers he can breathe under water and swim faster than anybody. Also he can communicate with horses and sea creatures and he has all control over water but limited because he will get very drained out. Jason is the son of Jupiter also making him a very powerful demigod. He can control the winds making him fly and shoot blast of wind and lighting. Piper is the daughter of Aphrodite the goddess of love. Her powers are charmspeak meaning she can convince people to do whatever she wants. Leo is the son of Hephaestus making him good with machines. He can build anything and he has a rare power to control fire and shoot fire projectiles. Frank is the son of mars. Him moms side has a power to shape shift. He has no special demigod powers. Hazel is the daughter of Pluto. She died in the 1940’s but her father brought her back to life. Her powers are she can detect any type of special metal. Annabeth is the daughter of Athena making her very smart and crafty. She has no special powers but she can be very dangerous with her mind. Also her boyfriend is Percy Jackson.

The House of Hades

The book that I have finished Reading is the House of Hades by Rick Riordan. This book is the fourth installment in The Heroes of Olympusseries.

This Book tells the story of Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Leo, Piper, Hazel, and Frank as they try to close the Doors of Death. Percy and Annabeth are trying to find a way out of Tartarus and to the Doors of Death on their side while the rest of the group is trying to find the Doors of Death in the mortal world so  monsters can stay dead. Over the course of the book many of the characters change and you learn a very big secret about Nico. They are also trying to prevent a war between the two demigod camps called Camp Jupiter (Roman demigods) and Camp Half-Blood (Greek demigods) before they destroy each other.

I would recommend the book because it keeps a good pace and builds a lot of suspense. I think it is the best one yet and can’t wait for the fifth and final book.

The Son of Neptune

The book that I have finished reading is Son of Neptune. This book was written by the amazing author Rick Riordan.

This book tells the story of Percy, Hazel, and Frank and how they are trying to free the god of death Thanatos. It also tells about their struggle to help Camp Jupiter and stopping Gaea the mother of the Titans and Giants (she is also the earth itself). Their biggest challenge is one of Gaea’s strongest giants. They have to find Thanatos because the monsters they kill wont stay dead because Thanatos was captured.

I think you should read this book because it has a very interesting story. I liked this book a lot and it is one of my favorite books of all time.

House of Hades

Rick Riordan has written many other books including Percy Jackson series and heroes of Olympus seriesHouse of Hades is the fourth book in the heroes of Olympus saga and continues the story of the series. The message I thought the author was trying to get across is never give up even with all the odds against you.

House of Hades follows a group of demi gods as they race to close the doors of death in both the over and the under worlds. This book picks up right where the last one ends with Percy and Annabeth stuck in Tartarus fighting their way through monsters and enemies. At the same time Jason and the others are having their own problems dealing with gods and monsters all trying to stop them from getting to Greece and stopping the evil god Gaia from rising.

I liked the book it gave the quest even more urgency as now there is less time and more things to do as ever even though I think the title of the book house of hades is a little misleading because they never do make it there. If you have read previous books in the series this book is a must read otherwise it wouldn’t make much sense as it mostly focuses on the existing characters and doesn’t add new ones.

The Lost Hero

The Lost Hero was written by Rick Riordan, following the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series as its own recurring series known as “Heroes of Olympus”, following the same story line only now with new characters added into the theme.

This book revolves around a boy named Jason Grace, waking up on a bus, not knowing who he is or where he was. He was holding hands with a girl he’s never met, and talking to a boy he’s never met. As he tells the strangers of how he randomly ended up on the bus, Piper, his so called girlfriend, asks if he’s joking or not. Leo, his supposed best friend, says he’s playing around. But he knows for sure something’s not right. The school chaperone, coach Hedge also knows Jason isn’t supposed to be there.

As the story progresses, Jason finds out that he was attending a school called the Wilderness School somewhere in Nevada. They were on the bus for a school field trip to the Grand Canyon, making their way to the museum that lies above. Once they arrive, Piper is swept away by her partner, a narcissistic jerk named Dylan. Leo and Jason pair up and go to the skywalk above the canyon to fill out a paper for class. Soon after, wind starts building up and thunder roars overhead. Student evacuate as the skywalk begins to shake, sending kids screaming and Leo almost over the edge. Piper is knocked out by Dylan, who becomes a storm spirit.

Later, Piper is sent flying over the skywalk, and Jason going after her. Jason flies down and catches her, unknowingly bringing both him and Piper back up. Dylan ends up taking coach Hedge (also known as the protector of Leo and Piper, not knowing Jason was a part of it) into an unknown void in Leo’s stead. A blonde girl with stormy grey eyes comes along, and says she’s looking for her missing boyfriend, found out to be Percy Jackson.

The descriptive, action packed adventure book is filled with the three demigods on a quest to free Hera from the Wolf House, also helping Piper save her father, famous actor Tristan McLean. Filled with fighting, clever humor, action, despair, betrayal, and many other quirks that really makes this a Riordan novel. The theme fits incredibly with the Percy Jackson books, and makes it such an enjoyable read. It’s really an incredible book. The characters are marvelous, and the descriptiveness is magnificent. Definitely a series I’d recommend starting if you’ve read the Percy Jackson novels.

As the book series is ongoing, it gives readers an insight on the starting plot and theme of the newfound series adding itself to the previous. All in all, it’s a wonderful read and I recommend 10/10 no doubt. (Trust me, I’ve read it like, 10 times. No lie.)
