Divergent

Divergent by Veronica Roth is a great book and is on a climb of fame. This is the first book of the series. At www.amazon.com you can buy her other books. They have the same characters but different plot.

This story is about Tris and her adventures being divergent in a post apocalyptic world where everyone is divided into groups based on characteristics. Divergent means you belong to multiple groups. they are extremely powerful because of there extreme intelligence.

I recommend this book because of its great plot and rich character detail. you should read this book immediately.

Divergent

The book I read was called Divergent by Veronica Roth. The book was the first of a trilogy including Divergent, Insurgent, and Allegiance. This series is the only book Veronica has wrote. Divergent takes place in a Chicago of the future, where the world is divided to avoid threats. The theme of the book is all about family, identity, and courage.

Beatrice Prior was born in a world split into five factions Abnegation (selflessness), Candor (honesty), Erudite (intelligence), Amity (peace), and Dauntless (fearless/bravery). Beatrice was born into abnegation, but one day a year everyone age 16 must take an “aptitude test” which places them in a new faction along with their old faction and they must choose to leave their family or stay. When beatrice takes the test she receives three factions as options Abnegation, Dauntless and Erudite. This means that Beatrice is divergent, considered a threat to the society. On the  day of choosing beatrice joins dauntless and her brother ,caleb, chooses Erudite. When beatrice begins her new life she decides to change her name to Tris. In dauntless you must pass the initiation or you will become faction-less, similar to being homeless. Will Tris pass the test or will her life be destroyed by one choice?

I loved this book; It was a major page turner and grasped your attention from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend this book to others. I think this book is best suited for people who are interested in futuristic/dystopian stories, but anyone will love this book.

Divergent

This book review is on Divergent by Veronica Roth; it is the first book in a series of three. The main character is Beatris Prior. The city is in Chicago in the near future. The book starts off with Beatris turning six-teen and currently living in the abnegation fraction.  Beatris, her brother Caleb and all other six-teen year olds have to go through a simulated test that helps them determine which fraction they belong in.  They then attend the choosing ceremony to decide which faction they belong in. The factions are groups and or desires in which they are involved in and share a common interest.  For instance, the dauntless faction is a faction that involves fighting; fear is not an issue, and their source if entertainment would be anything that gives them an adrenaline rush. There is excitement throughout the book and the description allows the reader to picture every step in there head.  “One choice can transform you” (Roth). This quote is off the cover, it immediately shows how intense each decision is, in the story.

The day Beatris turned six-teen was the day her whole life started over. Her procedure for finding out which faction she belonged in was very interesting. Her results were very different then others. She learned that she was Divergent. Beatris learned that telling this secret to her family or friends could potentially make her faction less, or worse dead. The term faction less means they are they are kicked out of their fraction and not allowed to enter another, they are poor, out of luck, left alone, no job or money. As her simulation ended she had to decide which faction she was going to pick (at the top are the choices).  Her heart was pounding like a drum, and her body was shivering like it was -5 outside. It was the one choice that would decide the rest of her life.

This book was outstanding. I give it a 100 % 10/10. Every minute I could not wait until the next. Adventure.  As I was reading one chapter, I couldn’t wait to get to the next. The next book insurgent is at the top of my priorities right now.

Divergent

Divergent is in a three series book written by Veronica Roth. Divergent, insurgent, and allegiant are the three books in the series. Divergent is about a girl turning sixteen getting ready to choose what she will be in life. I fell the theme of this book is be yourself, or you don’t have to try and fit in with anyone.

Divergent is a book wrote in the future where when you turn the age of 16 you have to choose a faction that you would stay with for the rest of your life. You have a choice to stay in the faction that you were born in to or be claimed as a trader. This is the choice you had to make by yourself at the age of 16. Tris had made this extreme switch from abnegate the curious to dauntless the brave who fight. She then finds herself mixed up in a huge rebellion. Tris (Beatrice) has to make a decision that alters her world forever.

I would recommend this book to any reader who enjoys a futuristic book with twist and turns. If you enjoy a book that keeps you asking question or a jaw dropper this is for you. Veronica Roth capture the scene in so many parts especially the fighting she makes it so that it seems you are getting punched too. This is a sure read.

Divergent

Divergent is the first in an ongoing series by Veronica Roth, a talented writer of dystopian (or post-apocalyptic society worlds) fiction. Divergent sets the stage in a dystopian future, where the reader is thrown into a world where the society is run by factions, each of the factions specializing in a certain way of life and mindset. Divergent follows the life of a girl born into the Abnegation faction, forced to chose between staying in a familiar setting where she isn’t comfortable, or going out into the unknown and choosing a new life for herself…permanently.

Divergent follows the life of a 16 year old girl named Beatrice in a dystopian world, where society is divided into factions; Abnegation (the selfless), Candor (the honest), Amity (the peaceful), Erudite (the intelligent), and Dauntless (the brave). Beatrice is born into Abnegation, where her faction is devoted to a life of selflessness. In this society, you live with the faction you are born into until you are 16, then you can choose to either stay with the faction, or leave to join a different one. However, the choice is permanent. You either stay with the faction you chose, or live “factionless”, abandoned, barely meeting the basic needs for human life. Luckily, before you make your potentially life-altering decision, you get to take a test to determine which faction best suits you. Beatrice takes this test, and finds out she’s Divergent, which means she has qualities from all of the different factions, and all of the factions equally suit her. Beatrice is told that being Divergent is dangerous, and that she must keep it a secret at all costs. Early on in the book, she knows that the Abnegation lifestyle is a life that she envies, but cannot truly live, because the Abnegation demands complete selflessness. She chooses a new faction, the Dauntless, and with a new faction, comes Beatrice’s new life, and new home. Divergent includes relatable themes, such as loyalty to your family, love, and human character. There are several important conflicts in Divergent; most of them are internal conflicts that Beatrice experiences. The first conflict is Beatrice’s loyalty. Loyalty is a HUGE theme in Divergent, as the factions demand extreme loyalty, which includes the fact that if you change your faction, you’re not allowed to see your family ever again. However, this theme pushes gives Beatrice a consequence to leaving the faction she was born in, and it is the major conflict in the beginning of the book. Beatrice’s decision that resulted from this conflict continues the story, and that is why this is the most important conflict in the entire book.

I would highly recommend Divergent to any fan of Veronica Roth’s writing style or dystopian fiction. Divergent is a compelling story, with relatable themes. Roth puts us in the shoes of a scared girl who becomes a strong woman. Divergent is an epic “coming of age” tale, and one of the best books any reader could ask for

Divergent

Divergent was a very exciting book to read. It’s the first book in a trilogy, written by Veronica Roth. The series is the only writing by Veronica Roth that has been published so far. The story is a utopian and dystopian fiction book for young adults.

The book takes place in a future Chicago. The city is divided into five factions, Abnegation (the selfless), Amity (the peaceful), Erudite (the knowable), Dauntless (the brave) and Candor (the honest). When teenagers reach sixteen years old they must choose to stay in the faction they were born into or choose another.

The story centers around sixteen year old Beatrice Prior. She was born into the Abnegation factor, but feels like she doesn’t truly belong. Before choosing day, Beatrice takes an aptitude test that’s designed to help you determine which faction most calls to you. After the test, she is told her result is divergent, meaning she fits into more than one faction. This is rare and dangerous.

On choosing day, Beatrice makes a shocking decision. She must go through initiation to be truly part of the new faction she has chosen. She must determine her allies and enemies. When things start to make sense, the entire society is turned upside down. She learns that being divergent is both a gift and a curse, and might be the only thing that will save everyone..

Reading Divergent was very exciting and enticing. I was hooked from beginning to end. The book had many strengths including a very interesting and well-thought-out plot, very well developed characters, and innovative storyline. I was never bored – there were several sub-plots and many twists and turns. I think that people who enjoyed reading The Hunger Games and like dystopian fiction, would enjoy reading Divergent. For these reasons, I highly recommend the book.

Divergent

The book Divergent is a very good book by Veronica Roth. Divergent is the first book in a trilogy and the other books in the trilogy are called Insurgent and Allegiant. The book, Divergent, is an action book that is about a young girl that lives in some time in the future. The futuristic city is where the main character lives with her brother. The main character is young women named Beatrice, her brother is named Caleb. The book is written so that you can see everything the main character sees. This book is a fiction book that is full of action. In the beginning of the book, the theme is that you have to grow up and get to an age that you might have to leave your parents and start your own life. In the book, Beatrice and Caleb both get to that age where they can start their own lives.

The book, Divergent, is about a young women living in some sort of future, the place she lives in is split up into these things called factions. The five factions are Abnegation, Erudite, Dauntless, Amity and Candor. There is also a group of people that are factionless, the people in the factionless group are people that failed to complete their test to see what faction they would fit into. The factionless people live in poverty and do the work that other people don’t want to. Factions are basically groups of people. In the book, the main character reaches the age where the people have to take some sort of test to see what factions she could fit in. In the book, a conflict the main character has is when she is picking what faction she wants to go. Her mother said whatever choice she made would be fine. Later on in the book, a couple factions try to overthrow the government from the Abnegations and Beatrice has to try to stop it.

I found the tests to be intriguing; a few lines from the book are “The tests began after lunch. We sit at the lunch tables in the cafeteria, and the test administrators call ten names at a time, one for each testing room. I sit next to Caleb and across from our neighbor Susan” (Roth 8).

I would personally recommend this book to people because even though it got a little boring to me at parts, I found that this book kept making me turn pages. The reason why I didn’t like every part of the book is because at parts, I thought the book was a little slow, the reason why I thought the book would get slow, is because I just didn’t really find the book extremely interesting at all parts. I think the reason it wasn’t always interesting is because I just didn’t really enjoy it. This book easily hooked me because only parts of the book bored me, the majority of the book was really good and I loved how it was written, it was written as if it was made to hook everyone that started reading it. This book is for sure a book to pick up and read because it will have you hooked. Everyone should buy this book and read it because it is just written amazingly. I would describe this book as being a well written fiction book that everyone should read.
