Cold Kiss

In the book Cold Kiss by Amy Garvey, Wren wasn’t just any normal girl, she was a girl with powers that she can’t keep control of. After finding out that her boyfriend, Danny, had died in a car crash, she started to mute everyone out. But then she came to the realization that she couldn’t do anything about it. She couldn’t be able to live without him so she decides to bring Danny back to life. The entire book, she tries to figure out how she brought him back to life and how to reverse the spell. Danny knows that he is a ghost but doesn’t really care because he is with her most of the time and that is all that matters to him. Wren starts to have feelings for this other boy and it all gets into a big mess between the three of them.

I didn’t really get any of the book, the only thing I got from it was that she had brought him back to life. Wren struggles with how she brought him back to life. She was mad but she was also unhappy and couldn’t get the thought out of her head that he was dead. Another boy, Gabriel, who is in her grade, also has the same powers as Wren and sees Danny when nobody else can. He helps her with her problems throughout the whole book which makes her fall in love with him.

The theme of Cold Kiss would be letting go of a love could be the best thing or the worse thing which is good and bad for Wren because she doesn’t know what to do between Danny and Gabriel. I didn’t really like this story. It wasn’t as appealing as I thought it would be. I thought it would be good but it wasn’t. The book was a bit all over the place and confusing for the most part. I couldn’t really tell what was happening during each part because she was talking about different things at the same time. It wasn’t that interesting. I would not recommend this book for anyone to read.
