Nothing Special

Nothing Special is a book by the Award Winning author of StupidFast, Geoff Herbach; Stupid Fast is the first book of the sequel. In the book Nothing Special Felton Feinstein is a regular teenager trying to find out what he’s going to do with his life. He has two choices to choose from; Football or track. Felton has lots of pressure on him since he is a senior; and collage scouts are always watching him, especially because he has the biggest football game coming up. On another hand Andrew, Felton’s brother is not the sports type and kids have been picking on him because he’s not like his brother, and just that can changes the whole book. The author wants the reader to have a relation to the book and or he wants the reader to feel as if they were inside the book as if they were watching or in a movie. He wants the reader to see the images in their head.

When Felton’s brother Andrew suddenly goes to a camp far away, he figures out he is not at the camp and he decides to go find him. After Felton starts getting these strange emails from a random person he puts all the clues together that are in the email to find his brother. During the Adventure to Florida from Dane County, Wisconsin, Felton and his Best friend Gus end up seeing on the way different things and people.  During Felton’s trip he is writing to his Ex Girlfriend that lives in Germany, so there are flash backs to when he is telling her about what’s going on in his life. Just to summarize the book; Felton’s brother runs away to find his dad’s side of their family that they barley talk to and to find out why they never talk to them. Felton is tracking down his little brother with his old best friend Gus and during their adventure they stop a couple times, meet new people, see new things, and when they get to where Andrew is they figure out why they never talk to their family anymore.

During this book it is very confusing with the flash backs, and what is going on. I would only recommend this book to readers that look adventure books and sporty books. If I would have known about the first book I would have read that first then in Nothing Special everything would make a lot more sense. I liked a couple things about this book like during their trip and when they find Andrew and the ending; where everything becomes “peaceful” .
