The Princess Bride

The novel The Princess Bride is by William Goldman. The story begins when a father decides to read a classic novel to his 10 year old son. The son grows up to be a writer and decides to re-write the novel of the action side of things that his father used to read him. He writes the story and my review is…after learning that her wayward true love, Westley, will never return for her, Buttercup agrees to marry entirely undeserving Prince Humperdinck. But before the wedding festivities can commerce, Buttercup gets kidnapped and whisked away in a boat by a gang. What will happen to Buttercup? Well you’ll have to read the book to find out.

What I want to say about this book is, I didn’t really care for it. The novel itself was all over the place. You couldn’t really tell if the narrator was having a flashback, in the present, writing the novel, or what was really happening at the moment. Its kind of difficult to piece together what was happening until you got to the re-write part of the book, but that itself was somewhat unable to understand. I don’t recommend this book but if you want to try reading it I recommend you take notes on what is happening.
