The book "Notes From the Midnight Driver" was written
by author Jordan Sonnenblick. All of his books have an inspiring theme and
story line behind them. One of his most notable novels besides this one is
Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie one of the first books he ever published which
was inspired about someones cancer story. Notes From The Midnight Driver is in
comparison to all of his other books because it has a positive message about
what happens when life takes a turn for the worst but some how someway there is
a journey to get back on track.
This story is about Alex Gregory
a 16 year old whose parents are divorced. One day he decides to get drunk when
he is at home by his self. His mom is on a date because his father is off with
Alex's his third grade teacher. His plan was to take his mom's car and
"shake things up" with his dad and his date. Instead things don't go
as planned and he crashes into a tree. He has to go to court for drunk driving
and his punishment is to serve community service hours working at a nursing
home taking care of patient Sol Lewis. Sol has a hard time accepting Alex.
Alex's best friend Laurie helps to keep him out of trouble.
This book has a tendency to grab
attention to teenagers because Alex is a teen and the story is given in his
perspective. But honestly I would recommend this book to anyone because
honestly this book is amazing. The ending to me was one of the best and most
memorable parts of the story and it is worth reading the full story to get to
the end.
