Chain Reaction

This book review is about the book Chain Reaction. The author of this book is Simone Elkeles. The book compares to the other books in the series because the author follows the characters’ lives through several generations. This story is about to teenagers learning about trust and faith in their true love. They go through many hardships trying to stay together.

Luis Fuentes loves to take risks because it gives him a trill. Even if it means he has to climb a mountain without a harness, Luis is always trying to find the next big excitement.

Nikki Cruz lives by the saying never trust a guy that tells you he loves you because he’s just trying to use you. This is because her last boyfriend really hurt her with the words “I love you”. When she meets Luis (a boy from her High School) at first she doesn’t give him the time of day because to her he’s just another boy who’s going to try and use her. Slowly she starts to fall in love with him and wants to start trusting him with the words “I love you”.

Luis really wants to get Nikki to like him but that’s going to be a really big challenge because he knows she doesn’t go out with guys that are in gangs that do drug deals. Luis happens to be in a gang that does drug deals. Will Luis leave his gang to be with Nikki or will Nikki learn to except that he’s in a gang because she loves him?

This book is one of my favorite books. Within the first few pages the story quickly snatches your attention because it starts out with a daring adventure with a main character. The two significantly different environments the two main characters live in are very interesting. The struggles both of them go through to try and be together catches my full attention. Each and every character is described fantastically and they all have a significant role in the story.
