Thirteen Reasons Why

The book I chose was 13 reasons why. The author is Jay Asher he has also written The Future Of Us and Scoring with Logic Pro. The Future of us was Co written with Carolyn Mackler. I haven't read his other books so I can't compare them but 13 reasons why seems to be the best one because it's his most popular one. But I'm sure his other books are good too. Im gonna read The Future Of Us next. I think the theme might be that everyone takes advantage of other people or even hurt them they don't notice till its to late. I also think there are a few more themes like guilt and blame, respect and reputation and betrayal and violence.

This book is about this guy named Clay Jenson one day when he gets hope from school with his name on it. When he opens it he finds out they are cassette tapes. They recorded by Hannah Baker his crush but also a girl who committed suicide two weeks earlier. The first tape explains that there is 13 reasons why she committed suicide. And Clay Jenson is one of them.  " I hope your ready, because I'm about to tell you the story of my life. More specifically, why it ended. And if you're listening to these tapes, you're one of the reasons why."

I really like this book because I don't really find books that I really like and enjoy to read. But I also like the book because it kinda shows it really matters what you say and do to other people because you never know what's going on in there heads. And you might not notice till its to late. I think the target audience would be young readers from age 14-24. And if your into maybe suicide type things you should read this book. This book may not be traced of a true story but this book is pretty realistic.

Thirteen Reasons Why

Intro: Thirteen Reasons Why is written by Jay Asher. Jay Asher writes modern day novels for people in their teen years. He has also written Before I fall, Premeditated, and All the Bright Places. All of Asher’s books have to do with teen relationships and teen troubles. They all have a bit of mystery in them too.  They all discuss about teen problems that may be troubling to talk about but he makes it easy to read about. The theme for Thirteen Reasons Why is that everyone has a reason for their actions, some good and some bad.

Summary: This story is about a girl’s reason for why she committed suicide. This book also deals with drugs, rape, and police. Hannah Baker committed suicide and created cassette tapes for the people who pushed her to her breaking point to listen to. Clay was the last person to receive the tapes and was oblivious to why he would be on the tapes. The tapes had a map that went with them for the people to follow while listening. The tapes also come with a warning that if anyone failed to pass them along; they would become public. These tapes came with a lot of power.

Analysis/Review: This book makes it easy to talk about difficult teen problems, such as suicide. It takes a direct approach at what is right in wrong in teens lives. I think everyone should read this book to have a better understanding about the troubles teens experience today. This is a book that would be better to read sooner rather than later.

Thirteen Reasons Why

By Jay Asher

Hannah’s death was a surprise to everyone. Why did she kill herself? Everyone asked but no one knew the true reason until listening to the thirteen tapes. Before Hannah died she seemed to have a normal life as a teenager. Nobody knew what she was really feeling or thinking until they began listening to the tapes.

Before Hannah killed herself she started recording herself explaining “the thirteen reasons why” she committed suicide. Each tape was about one person, they didn’t have names on them so you had to listen to all of them before realizing which was yours. All thirteen people will receive the tapes at some point but the rules were that you needed to pass them on.

This book is full of surprises that will make you want to read even more.

Thirteen Reasons Why

The book I read was Th1rten R3asons Why by Jay Asher. He is a fantastic author who has also written the book The Future of Us. In Th1rteen R3asons Why there is a girl named Hannah Baker, who committed suicide because of the actions from mainly 13 of her peers. But, right before she died, Hannah decided she wanted to get her story out into the world, the true story. The real message you get when you read this story is don’t judge a book by its cover, because it seems everyone seems to know Hannah just by rumors they have heard and what she looks, but herself.

Of course the main character in this story is Hannah Baker, but she is not the only telling a story. This book starts as a boy named Clay Jensen who was in the same grade and happened to work with Hannah during the summer she came to his town. He has received a box of seven tapes and a map from Hannah. There are seven tapes, all double sided except for the seventh tape. In the first tape Hannah explains the only two rules, the first you have to listen to all of the tapes to find where your story fits in and the second you have to pass the tapes on to the name that follows yours. Through listening to all the tapes, Clay not only learns his story and what Hannah thought of him, but everybody else as well.

Th1rteen R3asons Why was an amazing book and I would definitely recommend others to read it! It is an easy read and on that will definitely keep you on your toes, always wanting to know more. If you ever have the chance to pick up this book, take it. I was not able to put this book down for five minutes and I bet you won't be able to either. Have fun reading!

Thirteen Reasons Why

I had the opportunity to read the novel Thirteen Reasons Why, By Jay Asher. Jay Asher has not only written this novel but he’s wrote The Future of US, in which I have not yet had the chance to read.
After hearing the devastating news of Hannah Bakers death, Clay Jensen receives box of tapes on his against his front door. In which he’s curious to what it is he opens the box, plays the tapes only to find out is recordings that Hannah baker herself made. With each secret and each person it reveals that Clay himself and others are somewhat related to her death, and what brought her to her breaking point. Throughout the day and the night, Clay keeps listening. As he listens carefully he goes throughout town following Hannah’s steps, and recorded words. What Clay finds out as he listens changes his life, and I’m sure it changed the others on the tapes life as well.
This novel unfolds various plot twist, that shows a since of mystery focuses on Clay Jensen. Not only does it focus on Clay but it focuses on what really happened to Hannah Baker and how was he involved. With each tape told in chapters, the plot advances and grows with each secret revealed. Readers instantly become drawn into what will happen next, curious of how each person and Clay Jensen adds up to the death of Hannah Baker.
Some characters were left somewhat undeveloped, making us as the readers to ask questions. Thirteen Reasons Why is a real eye catcher, page-turner and it just keeps you wanting more. In which I’m sure others would enjoy this book.

Thirteen Reasons Why

13 REASONS WHY by:  Jay Asher

The author of 13 reasons why has written the books “THEFUTURE OF US” “HATE LIST” and many more. These books relate to 13 reasons why because they all talk about high school and how she came across guys she was attracted to. The overview of my book has many tragedies and a lot of emotion. The was a girl who faced many love situation, such as break ups, confused with her life with high school and life in general but there was one thing that changed it all.

One day a guy came home and found a box in front of the door. The box consisted recording tapes from a girl he once liked. As clay listens to the recordings he starts to realize that her life wasn’t as perfect as she portrayed it to be at school. As time went pass and he kept listening to the recordings of Hanna he starts to do what the recording says. There were 13 recordings and whoever got the tapes were the reasons she committed suicide. As time goes he starts to realize the truth about him.

As I read the book I felt shivers down my arms as I held the book in my hand the first 5 pages. As I went on I did not want to stop reading the book because the book dose not tells you the actual story until the end of the book. I liked the book because it makes you want to keep reading. You should read this book because Hanna has an interesting life story and you do not want to miss it. It will change the way you think about life

Thirteen Reasons Why

In the story Thirteen Reasons Why Hannah Baker, a what seems to be normal high school girl, unexpectedly dies. After her death a box of thirteen tapes have been sent out to be passed to the thirteen people responsible for her suicide. When Clay Jensen receives this box of tapes he is quite confused. After opening the box and listening to the first tape, he is shocked and his life has completely taken a turn. Along with the others who got the box passed to them. Read this story to find out Hannah's story and learn along with clay how he has a part in the suicide of Hannah Baker.

This story is shocking, suspenseful, and addicting. The reader learns about how reputations and bullying can hurt as they read what Hannah has to say on her tapes. This story is written in the first person point-of-view of Clay and it alternates with Hannah's talking on the tapes. This story lets the reader feel like they have a relationship with the characters and lets the readers see the different sides to the characters and their personalities. As you read you get further into the story you read about the plot that lead Hannah to her breaking point.

This story is a page turner that keeps the reader wanting to know more and you want to know more about Hannah's experiences and feelings. The connection that will form between the reader and the characters like Hannah and Clay makes the story so much more intriguing and thought provoking. The author ends the story with a lot unsaid and the reader will have to wonder or decide for the self what they believe happened as the characters move on with life after Hannah Baker. This is a story that I would recommend to anyone for an exciting, easy read.
