Seekers: Fire in the Sky

The book I finished is Seekers: Fire In The Sky by Erin Hunter. Erin Hunter has written two other book series. They are Warriors and Survivors. in my opinion the Seekers series is a little better then the Warriors series. So winter is coming so the bears go out onto the ice. Things go well at the beginning, but Toklo gets angry because he has to rely on Kallik to feed them and find shelter for them. The theme of this book is trust. This is the theme because all the bears had to trust Kallik to take care of them while they are out on the ice.

Since she got on land Kallik has wanted to go back to the ice. When they got to the Great Wilderness the first thing she noticed was the ocean. When it starts to get colder she suggests that they go onto the ice. A few days after they got on the ice the bears are close to starving. So Ujurak decides to turn into a whale and see if there are any breathing holes with seals around them. But while he is a whale he meets a mother. She has been looking for her lost calf for a long time now. All of the other whales in her pod think that her calf died. But she wouldn’t hear of it. One of the main conflicts in this book is when Toklo and Kallik got in a huge fight. Toklo didn’t like having someone find food for him. On land everyone else depended on him now they are dependent on Kallik.

I liked this book because it was action filled. There were no boring parts. People should read this because it is a really good book. There are so many action filled parts. And this book also teaches you to be flexible and be able to adjust to certain situations.

Seekers: Last Wilderness

The book that I have just finished reading is Seekers: LastWilderness. The authors name is Erin Hunter. Erin Hunter has also write the Warriors series and the Survivor series. Personally I don’t like the Survivor series. I could get in to it. The Warrior series is good. Lots of action filled moments. In my opinion the Seekers books are the best that she has written. The thing that makes Erin Hinter such a good writer is that you get attached to the characters. When someone dies you feel like you knew them as well as all of their friends and family members. Not all writers can make you feel like you are apart of the family in the book. In this book Kallik, Toklo, Lusa, and Ujurak make it to the Last Great Wilderness, but something doesn’t seem right. The theme of this book is don’t judge a book by its cover. This is the theme because there are people who live in the Last Great Wilderness. When the bears first got there they thought the people where dangerous because all of the other people they ran into tried to kill them, but these people where nice.

When the bears arrive at the Last Wilderness they start exploring. After a while they start hunting because they are hungry. Toklo comes up with the idea that Ujurak turns into a geese (he is a shape shifter) and go into the middle of the flock then turn back into bear and catch some before they all fly away. The plan didn’t work out. When Ujurak shape shifts he has to fight to remember that he is a bear or else he stays the animal that he turned into. While he is a geese he fly’s off with the flock and they fly about 3-4 miles. The other bears try to follow him but they lose sight of him and just jog in the general direction the geese went. The geese land to eat and Ujurak swallows a fish hook. He turns into a bear and all the geese fly off then his friends find him and convince him to turn into a human so they can take him to the doctor that lives in the little village in the Wilderness. After a few days some people come and visit the village people and something doesn’t seem right.

I liked this book because you are at the end of your seat for the whole thing. This book is for people who like adventure and a little bit of mystery. I started reading this series when I was in 5th grade so I would say that 10 years and up are good ages to read this book.

Seekers: Smoke Mountain

The book I finished reading is Seekers: Smoke Mountain. the author is Erin Hunter. She has written many, many books. She has written 3 different series of books. Warriors, Seekers and Survivors. Warriors is a good book. Seekers is pry the best series of books she has written. I read the first couple of pages and I didn’t really like it. In this book Lusa, Toklo and Ujurak meet Kallik at a place called Great Bear lake. Great Bear lake is where all kinds of bears meet on the longest day of the year. Lusa and Kallik meet each other there. Now all four bears are traveling together. The theme of the book is friendship because on their journey Lusa gets hit by a truck. All of her friends take care of her until she is better.

After the longest day is over all the bears meet this old bear. He tells them about the last great wilderness. It is a place where there is no people to bother the animals that live there. It’s like paradise. So off they go to the last great wilderness. But in order to get to the last wilderness you have to pass though Smoke Mountain. Smoke Mountain is a dangerous. Bears go in but none come out. While they are in Smoke Mountain some hunter spot the bears and try to kill them. The hunter get Toklo by setting a trap. It is raining and as the hunters are heading back to their cabin their truck falls off the cliff. If you want to know what happens then you’ll have to read the book.

I liked this book because it was full of suspense and action. There weren’t any major boring parts so it was hard to put the book down. If you like suspenseful and action filled books the this is the right one for you. If you don’t then you can still read it. It helps you understand not to take things for granted. To appreciate what you have.

Seekers: The Quest Begins

After her mother died a white bear named Kallik set out to find her brother. A black bear called Lusa lives in a zoo and dreams of going to the wild. A brown bear named Toklo wants to have his own territory one day. These characters are related because eventually they all meet each other and go on a quest together. The book I finished reading is Seekers: The Quest Begins by Erin Hunter. The theme of this book is you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. Kallik loses her mother and she can’t find her brother, Lusa leaves her family so she can go out in to the wild, and Toklo loses his family. Erin Hunter has written many, many books called Warriors. There are 3 complete series and then there are “extra” books about some of the characters.

Kallik had to get off the ice because summer was coming so she started heading towards where she thought land was. As she went on she meet other white bears. Most of whom probably have similar stories. Lusa’s father King used to live in the forest but then he got caught by people and they took him to the zoo. Lusa does everything she can to find out about the wild without upsetting her father. Toklo, his mother Oka, and his brother Tobi are traveling around looking for a river so they can eat salmon. Then all their lives take a turn for the worse when Tobi dies because he was sick and never got better. Then after Tobi dies Oka drives Toklo away because she can’t take care of him.

I loved this book because it is filled with suspense and you find out what happens until two chapters later because it flip flops between Kallik, Lusa, and Toklo. There are some boring parts but every book has boring parts. And the boring parts of the book makes it better. It makes it better because then you know when the exciting parts happening. If you like action and adventure books then go to the library or bookstore and get a seekers or warriors book. Even if you don’t like action and adventure books a whole lot these books are still fun to read. When  I first started reading these books I didn’t really like action and adventure books but now I love them because of the  seeker and warrior books that Erin Hunter wrote.
