Game is a book written by Walter Dean Myers. The genre of
books Myers writes are mostly young adult novels, nonfiction and poetry. Other
books that he has written are Monster, Hoops!, Fallen Angels and Scorpion. All
of his books seem to be very relatable to real life situations.
The book Game is about a boy named Drew that plays
basketball in high school, but when two players that aren't the same color as
the rest of the team get more attention than him he feels that his spot on the
team is at risk. Drew parents have always worried that he would be like all the
other guys his color in Harlem, so when these players came to his team he got
less minutes which made him angry and this brought drama to the story.
I liked the book because it was about basketball and he
brought up a lot of topics that I could relate to. If you don't care for sports
and nonfiction then I don't think this is the book for you but I do think that
you should check out one of Walter Dean Myers other books. I think that you
should read this book because it might relate to something you've went through
and it never gets boring because there is a lot of action in this book that
certain readers might like.
