The Fault In Our Stars

The book I read is The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. This is the only book I read from him. Some of his other books include Paper Towns, Looking For Alaska, and The Star Won't Go Out. The Fault in our Stars follows two young teenagers with cancer. The theme of the story is the struggles through life and the love through hardship.

In the story hazel grace has thyroid cancer and her mom makes her go to support group, where she meets Augustus waters. And they go on adventures together across the world. Where they get closer and closer. Both risking their lives of cancer, getting sicker without telling each other until it's gotten close to being too late. And something devastating happens.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes love stories but with a little bit of sadness. The book is amazing with some unexpected parts which makes it better. I highly recommend this book. It great you'll love it. After you read definitely watch the movie.

The Fault In Our Stars

The book I read was called The Fault in Our Stars written by, John Green. For more information or to purchase it click here: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-fault-in-our-stars-john-green/1104045488?ean=9780525478812. John Green has written the following books: Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines, and Will Grayson,Will Grayson. For more information on other books written by John Green go to the following link,https://www.goodreads.com/author/list/1406384.John_Green. This is the only book I’ve read by this author so I am not able to comment on the style of those other books in comparison to The Fault in Our Stars. The themes of this book are the struggles that life brings especially with cancer on top, as well as love coming out on top of a significant event.

The book is about a young girl (main character) named, Hazel. She is forced by her mother to go to a weekly support group for cancer that she dreads. Every week a new excuse is said to avoid it. Her mom said she needed to be involved in activities to keep her busy. Hazel said, “Please just let me watch America’s Next Top Model. It’s an activity” (Green 25). Her first time at support group she caught a glimpse of a very attractive boy. His name is Augustus Waters. From there they started talking. They grew to become very close friends who did almost everything together. As the book continues they grow closer together and one of their cancers starts to get in the way. Hazel and Augustus shared the interest of a book & wanted to meet the author some day. The cancer makes this wish difficult. Hazel becomes a wreck thinking about the situation she, Augustus, and her family face. She cried, listened, and worried. Augustus and Hazel have an intriguing love story; their story brings out the best of themselves. Read the book to finish the story!

I would recommend the book to anyone who likes romantic stories. If those kind of books are not you're type, I wouldn’t waste time on it since its based around their connection. I think it is good for all ages, young and old. Although it goes into detail it shows how life can effect us all and the challenges people face every day. I love the writing style of John Green, as well as the story line of this book! It’s a good read!

The Fault In Our Stars

The book I read is called The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. John Green is also the author of many other amazing books such as Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, and An Abundance of Katherines. The Fault in Our Stars is a great heartbreaking, heartwarming, funny and tragic book. It’s also one of my favorite genre of books, romance, but this book has a bit of everything. This book breaks your but at the same time, it gives you hope in a sense in the end. It doesn’t give you too much romance, it has comedy and it thrills you. The Fault in Our Stars would really surprise you especially is you don’t usually read romance novels. I would certainly describe this book as “beautifully tragic”.

This book is about a teen girl named Hazel Grace who, despite her tumor-shrinking medical miracle, has never been anything but terminal. One day Hazel’s parents convince her to attend a Cancer Kid Support group. Little does she know, she made the best decision of her life by going to the group and meeting a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters. Hazel feels depressed but will this change? In the book Hazel says “After I finished, there was quite a long period of silence as I watched a smile spread all the way across Augustus’s face—not the little crooked smile of the boy trying to be sexy while he stared at me, but his real smile, too big for his face. “Goddamn,” Augustus said quietly. “Aren’t you something else” (Green 13). I would defiantly say this could describe the book in a few sentences. This is when it all starts.

I would certainly recommend this book to anyone asking me for a good read. I would especially recommend this book to people who love romantic/comedy books. This book has everything a book lover would want. It has funny, crazy, thrilling and tragic moments. I would even recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t really like romantic books because it truly wonderful and genuine that anyone could fall in love with this story. When read it, you feel like you have a personal connection with the characters. You feel like you get to know the characters though a book which doesn’t happen with many books. I’ve read many romance books but this is by far my favorite one. I would encourage everyone to find out why and how this book is “beautifully tragic.”

The Fault In Our Stars

“Oh, I wouldn’t mind, Hazel Grace. It would be a privilege to have my heart broken by you,” – John Green (this sentence makes me happy)

John Green might be the most renowned author of our generation; most celebrated for his books Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, and the reason your reading this review The Fault in Our Stars. The Fault in Our Stars shares relation with John Green other books as it’s a young adult novel and suspended around the ideology of friendship and love. The basis of this book is about Hazel Grace (girl) meets Augustus Water (boy) simple as that; boy meet girl. Oh, did I tell you they have cancer? Hazel unexpectedly met Gus and fell in love with his persistent and sincerity. In the span of this book they deal with the struggle of cancer, hard love, coping with a death, and a fictional book.

In the years that cancer affected Hazel all she thinks is death; she also talks about it as one might talk about weather. Until she meets Gus, a very symbolism of life for Hazel Grace Lancaster. They both meet in a Cancer Support group, and bonded over their love of books and rebellion. It’s to happen that Hazel gives Gus her most prize book that she reads in repeat An Imperial Affliction. The book was never truly finished as the girl who narrates it, Anna, dies or became too sick to narrate her cancer story. Hazel and Gus are both curious to find what happen to the character of the book; and they both set out an adventure that you have to read.

In the book Hazel describes cancer as a side effect of life; and life is full of pain. No one desires to have cancer, they were just the outcome of life injustice the freaks of evolution. Another side effect of life is death; more if it’s a significant loss of a love one that can inflict a lot of suffering to those around you. Hazel Grace realizes this metaphor as a grenade: “I'm a grenade and at some point I'm going to blow up and I would like to minimize the casualties, okay?” (Green 99). What Hazel didn’t realize that this kind of pain can’t be avoided; her pain hurts more than anything but it’s a sign she love with all she had and she still remembered the memories (You’re not mourning their lost you’re celebrating their existence). By doing this Hazel also eased Gus’s fear of oblivion: that after his death his significant will be devour by oblivion and no one will remember him. But his fear of oblivion carried him to heroic acts and fall in love with a passive girl.

I love every of reading this book. I know the author did a profound job of writing this book because it made me speechless and grasping for air in every traumatic event. John Green was successfully at creating characters that are interesting, exciting, and discerning. Reading the Fault in Our Stars was a delightful sadness, like prickling your thumb on a rose’s thorn. It’s witty and quirky but extremely touching and doesn’t shy on symbolism. This book will make you appreciate life that much more and opens your eyes to the struggle of this heartbreaking disease. I don’t think anyone can hate this humble and thoughtful book and I have not heard one soul dislike it either. I recommend this book to anyone able to handle good crying sessions and fanatics annoyed with cheesy love books. If you’ve read the book that’s great read it again, and if you haven’t I dare you to get it, and fall in to this amazing book (you won’t regret it).

The Fault In Our Stars

John Green is famous for many books from Looking for Alaska to Paper towns. In 2012 he wrote The Fault In Our Stars a #1 New York Times Bestseller. In all three of the books, they all compare because the characters are all teenagers. And they each have their own story. The theme of the book is about cancer. But not just one of those cancer books, it is the best book of all time. Yes cancer is said but how he uses the different cancer patients and has them interact with each other is amazing. He made each character pop out of the book and into your heart.

In The Fault In Our Stars, Hazel meets an amazing boy at her support group for cancer survivors and patients. She meets a bot named Isaac, and he becomes one of her only friends. Isaac brings his friend to the support group (he is also a cancer survivor) and he just cannot keep his eyes off Hazel. While being the three amigos, Isaac has to get rid of his eye sight because his cancer was spreading, when he lost sight his girlfriend broke his heart. He was in so much pain that Augustus (his friend) took him and Hazel to her house and had him throw eggs at her car. He got the hang of it after a while and got the car a couple times, it made him feel a little better. In the book they meet and the go on a fabulous trip together to Amsterdam with Hazel’s mom. When the three get back something wrong starts to develop. Hazel cannot stop it, no one can.

This book was amazing; it was my favorite book of all time! The reason why the book was amazing was because it was a love story about two people who became madly in love. This sweet enchanting book was brilliantly thought out in every page. I never wanted to put it down; it had heart stoppers and romance.  I think anyone and everyone should read this book at least once! This book is great for any to most ages there are some naughty words/actions, but overall great book!

The Fault In Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is a remarkable book that displays a beautiful relationship built on very sad but unavoidable circumstances. Along with The Fault in Our Stars John Green has written many other books such as, Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns, I have not read either of these books but Looking for Alaska has been recommended to me on numerous occasions. There are many themes in this book but I would have to say the battling cancer is by far the biggest.  Both of the main characters are battling cancer, for Hazel she and everyone around her knew that she would eventually lose the fight to cancer it was just a matter of how long she could hold it off. Augustus Waters was a different story though the Doctors said that he had an 80% chance of survival even after he lost his leg.

This amazing novel follows a girl named Hazel and her struggle to fight cancer, her family and how they try to cope with it, and her friends that understand exactly what she is going through. After Hazel was diagnosed with cancer she stopped going to school (although she was still taking some college courses) because of this she lost touch with a lot of her friends and became quite antisocial, her mom and dad worried about her and eventually due to doctor recommendation they forced Hazel to go to a support group with a bunch of other kids with cancer or terminal illnesses. After a while of going to the group a new kid was brought by Isaac, another group member (for emotional support) whom she had never had a conversation with aside from the sighs of agreement that they exchanged. The new guys name was Augustus Waters, Hazel was taken back by him he was a handsome young man that had a mysterious ore about and instantly Hazel was interested. Throughout the group the only interaction that they had was intense staring beside the one banter back and forth about Gus’s fear or oblivion. At the end of the group Gus asked Hazel to come to his house and watch a movie in which the main character reminded him of Hazel at first she refused but as their conversation progressed she accepted his offer. They hung out after the movie and they traded their favorite books which later became a big part of the story his being related to the videogame that the always referred to and hers being a huge topic of choice when they seek out the author to try to find the answers for the drop off ending. Hazel has issues being around Gus because she knows that she is going to die and she doesn’t want to hurt him like his last girlfriend did. Along with their friend Isaac they go through their ups and downs and try to find out how to leave their mark on the world after they have all gone.

I enjoyed this book and I definitely think that it was worth reading. There was a lot of hype about this book and I think that that got my expectations really high and that’s why I was a little disappointed by it. The writing style is very strait forward and blunt. The book kind of opened my eyes of what cancer patients go through, I loved how well Hazel and Gus fit together I can just feel how they were brought together for a reason and I think that if I was in their situation and met someone that I went along with like that I would feel like I wouldn’t need anything else in my life for it to be complete. It is a great book and I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

The Fault in Our Stars

BY: JOHN GREEN

The Author of the book has written many books such as: Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, Will garyson and many more. These books all compare to the book the fault in our stars because they all tend to be young adult novels which are usually purchased by people 18 and up but also teens because John Green’s books tent to be relatable. There was once a young girl with the name of Hazel who suffered from cancer. Hazel had a strong positive mind about her sickness than the rest of her friends and family. She started going to support group which helped kids with cancer get through life as she started going to these meetings in the support group she met Augustus who quickly became the love of her life, who also suffered from cancer hazel saw that his positivity was as strong as hers so than its all turned to hazel, to make his mind positive and strong.

The story is mostly turned around on Hazel after she meets Augustus. She tries to find a a way to make Augustus Mind positive while she is fighting to stay positive herself. She makes many sacrifices to make Augustus once she sees him trying to give up. Somehow she still manages to get through life herself when she is constantly fighting to fit on and going to hospitals. After trying hard on keeping Augustus head up something tragic happens to him which makes Hazel’s life even harder.

This book is really helpful for the people who have someone in their family battling any diseases. They don’t even have to have a disease they could just be going through a hard time in life, yet this book makes them realize that there is way much to life than they can see.  I recommend reading this it will change how you think about many people or even change the way you think about life.

The Fault in Our Stars

The fault in our stars was written by the award winning author and internet sensation John Green.  The fault in our stars is currently his number one selling book and is currently being turned into a movie. Other than is amazing talent for righting amazing book like, looking for Alaska, and abundance of Katherines, and papertowns, john and his brother hank have an internet diary show called thevlogbrothers which has over one million subscribers and loyal fans.

The fault in our stars is a heartwarming story of a cancer patient hazel grace. Hazel has spent the last three years of her life in depression and sorrow due to the cancer that’s affecting her lungs. The affect the cancer had on her made her depressed to the point where she was unable to even think of making friends. Forcefully her mom made hazel attend a cancer support group. Hazel loathed the thought of going to this group due to the fact that it would just be an even more depressing environment full of people talking about dying. Surprisingly hazel didn’t just make a friend she ended up falling in love with a sixteen year old cancer survivor and amputee Augustus Waters. The book tells of their love adventure and in such vivid detail you at times feel like a third wheel to their ongoing romance.

I recommend this book to everyone. I do so because even thought this is quit the romance it is still a comedic novel which will at times spin the reader into laughter. The book not only has very inspiring and deep moments that touch every readers heart but also have surprise you when you’re least expecting it. this book is by far the best I have read and  I continue to re-read it time and time again.

The Fault in Our Stars

John Green is a very popular young-adult fiction author, his best-selling book is The Fault in Our Stars. He is also making this book into a movie and is coming out in the near future. If you like stories about smart and witty teens who are a little bit rebellious you will love this story. The setting of the story is modern day Indiana.

The Fault in Our Stars is the story of a 17 year old girl named Hazel that has thyroid cancer. She has to carry around an oxygen tank because her cancer has spread to her lungs. She has just started going to a children’s cancer support group where people talk about their struggles. She meets a guy named Augustus Waters. He is also 17 and had bone cancer. He is missing his left leg and he is now cancer free. He still goes to the meetings because of his friend Isaac. Isaac has a very rare eye cancer. At the beginning of the story Isaac has one eye that has already been removed because of the cancer and is worried about losing his other eye.

One day Augusts comes to support group and he and Hazel are immediately attracted to each-other. Even though he is cancer free, Gus is there to support Isaac because he is going to lose his other eye due to the cancer and be totally blind. After the meeting Gus invited Hazel to come over to Isaac’s house to hang out. After that Gus and Hazel begin a romantic relationship.

Hazel and Gus have a unique relationship because they are both very smart and rebellious. They talk about their experiences with cancer and cancer treatment. They talk about fait and whether or not life is fair. Hazel is obsessed with a book An Imperial Affliction. It is about a girl that dies of cancer. The book ends abruptly with the girl dying at the end, and the author does not resolve what happened to the rest of the characters in the story. Hazel desperately wants to know what happened to the characters, so she has written several letters to the author. She tells Gus about the book and how the author has never responded to her letters. After reading the book Gus decides to contact the author himself, and he receives an electronic response.

The rest of the story is a series of twists, turns, tragedies and wonderful lessons about life and what it means to be part of our world. “The real heroes anyways aren’t the people doing things; the real heroes are the people NOTICING things, paying attention” (Green 312). That is the theme of the story. In other words it’s ok to go through life and not be a world hero or accomplish huge things. It’s good enough to be a kind and thoughtful person.

Even though this book has a sad subject it makes you think about living life to the fullest every day. This was probably my favorite book I have read so far and I would really recommend this book. I will definitely read another one of his books in the near future. John Green is a great young-adult fiction author.

The Fault In Our Stars

The book I read was titled “The Fault in our Stars”, written by John Green. Other writings of his include “Looking for Alaska” and “PaperTowns”. Personally I feel he uses a writing style so unique it really captures the reader in and makes them keep wanting more. This story is about a sixteen year old girl named Hazel who is currently going through cancer. Hazel is always cooped up in her house until her Mother demands she gets out more. So she starts going to her support group more often and doesn’t find it very interesting, that is until a mysterious boy named Augustus Waters comes with one of the boys named Isaac.

Over the course of the book Hazel and Augustus spend quite a lot of time together. She opens up to him and shares things with him she’s never shared with anyone else, for example one of the most precious things to her; her favorite book. Hazel also makes a friend out of Isaac from support group, but Isaac is going through troubles of his own. After having surgery on his eyes he goes blind and his girlfriend no longer will talk to him. The bond intensifies as Hazel, Augustus, and Hazel`s Mom travel overseas to Amsterdam in the hopes of meeting Hazel`s favorite author, but when she gets there he is not all he seems to be.  Hazel also finds out that Augustus is very ill and she is not doing very well herself at the time. The story has us questioning what will happen to them both. In the end, without spoiling the plot, I think Hazel learns some very important lessons she did not even know about herself. She learns to love, hope, and overall she learns once again what it’s like to have fun.

The Fault in our Stars was an amazing book, it had great writing styles and it was so fluently put together that you just kept wanting to read it. For me close to the end of it was a real plot twister, because I was not expecting that to happen. I would definitely recommend this book; it really shows you what people with cancer have to go through. Not only that it’s just a good book, the plot was spot on and the writing performed by John Green was astonishing. The book I would say falls under the categories of tragedy, relationship/romantic, and fiction.

The Fault In Our Stars

With everything John green already has done, makes you wonder how he could do more. He’s wrote four books, made 1,168 videos with his brother Hank Green on their VlogBrothers channel on YouTube.
The amazing story that is John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, is filled with passion, suspense and tragedy.

The story centers around the two star-crossed lovers Hazel and Gus, but unlike most love stories it’s not full of drama or the guy trying to “woo” the girl. It’s more realistic yet still 100% romantic. Hazel was diagnosed with cancer when she was thirteen, but has managed to live with her disease thanks to an experimental drug. She is now sixteen, her parents think she needs help because she doesn’t go out much and usually stays home a lot. So they send her to a support group made for children living with cancer. Hazel finished high school early and has already started taking college classes. Isaac was a friend who also attended the support group.

Isaac lost his eye to cancer at a young age and has just learned that he must have the other eye removed. Isaac is close friends with Augustus "Gus" Waters, a former basketball player who lost his right leg to cancer, and is in remission. Hazel meets Augustus through Isaac at the support group. The two become good friends, and it soon is very obvious that The Fault in Our Stars is a love story. If you like love stories this one will keep you reading until the last page.  At the start it seems like a basic story of a girl but as you learn more about Hazel and Gus you get more and more enveloped in their story of love. Most books don’t amuse me, but this one was so good I finished it in four days.

The reason this book was so amazing is that John Green makes you feel like the characters are your best friends and your experiencing everything with them. It’s also amazing because the story is realistic, you can relate to the characters a lot more because of this.
