Tiger's Curse

I really enjoyed reading Tiger's Curse and the whole series by Colleen Houck. The series consists of four books. This one was amazingly written by Colleen Houck. It's a supernatural adventure and romance, teaching you friendship and how to love after loss.

The book is about an eighteen year old girl named Kelsey. She gets a summer job working with the circus while it's in town. While at the job, she meets and bonds with a beautiful white tiger. By bonding with him she unlocks an ancient curse. Kelsey is then invited to an all-expenses paid trip to India to help the white tiger adjust to the area. Later the two of them are stranded, and Kelsey is shocked to find the pure white tiger turn into a handsome Indian prince. They are forced to rely on each other to break the curse, which is keeping the prince a tiger.

The book is filled with twists and turns and contains a lot of interesting facts about Indian culture. It took me a week to read, and I dreaded each time I had to put it down. If you’re a sucker for romance and sci-fi fantasy, this book is for you. The adventure adds another element to the plot, making it more than just a love story. I would not recommend this book to someone who likes nonfiction.

One thing I did not like about the book was that the main character, at times, seems like a damsel in distress always being helpless. I wanted her to be stronger and more independent. However, the book’s plot is very though out. Every page offers something enticing that keeps you on the edge of your seat. In addition, the main character is easy to connect with, and the author uses a lot of sensory detail to make you feel like you’re a part of the adventure.

Overall, Tigers Curse is a great and magical story, that makes you look at life differently. I am so glad I read it!
