Perfect Chemistry

My book report is on Perfect Chemistry, written by Simone Elkeles. This book follows the lives of several characters, specifically Brittany Ellis and Alex Fuentes. They are two teenagers that discover what true love really is by experiencing having to accept each other’s striking differences and hobbies.

Senior Brittany Ellis is forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the opposite side of town from where she lives. Brittany doesn’t want to ruin her perfect reputation so she doesn’t want anything to do with Alex. Her home life isn’t so great but she has to make sure no one knows because to everyone else she is absolutely perfect. Alex being part of her life could ruin everything she made perfect.

Alex gets into a bet with his friends that he can get Brittany to like him. Alex, being a bad boy accepts this challenge. At first this is just a bet to him but as he gets to know her he starts to fall in love with her which is not supposed to happen. Alex realizes that Brittany is just a normal person with problems just like him. He starts to notice that not everything goes perfect for her. As she gets more normal to him the more he falls in love with her.

This book grabs my attention right away. I don’t want to stop reading but at the same time I don’t want to read because I don’t want it to end. The characters are very well explained throughout the story. All the characters from the past story play a part in this story which is very nice. Overall this book is one of my favorite story’s.

  1. I agree this is a very intresting story and it also makes me want to read on.There is a lot of foreshadowing in this book. I think when Alex realized that he was falling for Brittnay he tried to hide it from his friends. I also noticed that the more Alex fall for her the more she start falling for him.
