Flipped

The book I read for this book review is Flipped written by Wendelin Van Draanen. The main theme of the story is romance. This is a story told by two points of views, Bryce Loski, who moved in across from Juli Baker. The story begins with Bryce and Juli as children, and progresses to them getting older. It flips between the two characters, and is told from their points of views.

Bryce meets Juli at a young age. When Juli saw Bryce for the first time, she was boy crazy over him. When Bryce saw Juli at first glance, he wanted to run away from her. Throughout the story the children get older, and move from elementary to middle school. Juli starts to move on from the past and onto getting over Bryce. Though Bryce starts to realize the great things about Juli, from his Grandpa who made him look at the values of Juli. The book lives up to its title “Flipped”, because the characters literally switch thoughts about each other.

I would recommend this book to anyone who would love a quick read, and loves funny books. This story will make you laugh out loud! I would rate this book a five out of five, because it was a fun story to read. I learned many life lessons and values from this book. It was a great read, and I loved how it was told from two perspectives, it was interesting to hear one character tell their story from their eyes, and the other have a completely different story told from there view. In my opinion it was not a very challenging book, but it was fun to read.

Flipped

I choose the book Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen to write my book review on. I choose to read it because I love drama books. It can help you with real life situations. This book could help you if you are having crush problems. The book is written to show both views of the main characters. The message of the book is that sometimes feelings for people change but it happened for a reason.

When Bryce first moved to a new town in second grade, Juliana was all over him. Bryce didn’t like her back; Juliana always annoyed him. She was always flirting with him. All Juliana wanted was for Bryce to like her back. Throughout middle school, Bryce starts to see the “light” in Juliana. Juliana always liked Bryce but now finally they both like each other. In 8th grade it was as though things had flipped. Bryce was falling for Juliana more than she was falling for him.

The drama filled story shows both perspectives of Bryce and Juliana. This allows the reader to read both perspectives of the teens. It’s very interesting to see how each teen sees each other and how they feel about one another. You never want to put the book down because you always want to see what Juliana is going to say about Bryce or what Bryce is going to say about Juliana.  Will they ever feel the same way about each other, even with all the twist and turned feelings between them?
