The Freedom Writers Diary

I like this book since it indicates acceleration and that regardless of what you experience, you can get past it, it may require significant investment and devotion, however yet they sit tight for a change is justified, despite all the trouble. I for one think all readers might want this book since it indicates how far you can go in life. Everything I can let you know is to peruse this book you will appreciate it and crave to flip to the following page.

At the point when youthful instructor Erin Gruwell draws attention to her extraordinary and powerful showing strategies, the school organization relegates her to a class of “unteachable” understudies, the vast majority of whom are non-white individuals who encounter much hardship in their own lives.

Gruwell's understudies start keeping diaries or journals about their lives. In these, they discuss their own involvement with pack brutality, abusive behavior at home, substance manhandle, the lawful framework, and that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Gruwell acquaints her understudies with The Journal of Anne Frank and different books about the individuals who have survived war and oppression. The understudies are moved to the point that they start taking up accumulations to convey survivors to visit their school. This gains them national consideration.

The Freedom Writers Diary

Hey the book I'm reading is called the Freedom Writers. The author of this book is Erin gruwell. Shes wrote other books one of the books she wrote is named teach with your heart lessons. I can compare it with other books because every book she wrote it inspires you by keep trying in school have a good future to do the things right! The Freedom Writers are teenage students that wrote in journals about their personal life they are poor and live in bad violent neighborhoods. They've all lost a person in their life before and they tell it in this book.

These kids are in school where they all hate each other they split up and get into their race they don't like one another they don't get along with other students they fight for their family gang and freedom, also their territory teacher give them a journal and tells them to write whatever they would like anything they feel like writing they write about how they hate the class people tells about how they live. There's no main  character it talks about each students in the whole book. “Sharaud became the butt of a bad joke” drawled a picture with big lips. Books about the violent kids that are bad turned into responsible kids.

I really liked this book because in my opinion I think it's pretty cool that after all they went thru they got thru it, one of the things that inspired me in this book is that they didn't like reading or writing but at the end of the book they turned out liking it they started reading they tried and tried never gave up it was a strong inspiring book. She wrote this for all the people that went thru hard times, people that don't like reading this book might change your mind. I think people that love reading non fiction books this would be the right book for you. Once I started reading 3min of this book I got into it I didn't want to stop reading it, if you're bored and youwant time to go by fast this book is the book you need.

The Freedom Writers Diary

The book I read was The Freedom writers by The Freedom writters and Erin Gruwell. Erin Gruwell wrote a few other books such as “TheGigantic Book of Teachers’ Wisdom”. By looking at the title and not have read this book it seems like a guide to become an understanding and smart teacher. It also seems that it all ties together with her book with The Freedom Writters wrote with the freedom writters. The Freedom writters is a book about a class of ninth graders who encounter a new type of english teacher who doesn’t give up on them like others had. The theme of this book would have to be believe in yourself.

The story is about a class of ninth graders who encounter a new type of teacher that pushes not only herself but the students to be and do their best. In the book there are not any names but Mrs. Gruwell’s. The book is wrote about all the conflicts that these young men and women had to encounter.

This book is a wonderful read because it has a lot of amazing and crazy stories in it that touch the heart. If you enjoy a sort of audbioraphy this book is for you.

The Freedom Writers Diary

This book is about how young writers became successful and there own way this book is sad because some of them lost people that was gang related in these book. This book help the kids that where in the gang and that was selling drugs getting into fights with other gang members. In these book they had to be with there type of race and that they have to stick with the people who was there skin color like blacks have to stay with backs white people have to stay with white people Mexican had to stay with Mexican people they had to stay with there crew that is what this book was kind of about. Mrs.G was one of the teachers that had started working there and in a few weeks she started to get the hang of being a wit the class she was with an the movie she stared to teach them about how they need to get alone with each other and be successful an her class room.

In the book Mrs.G was one of the teachers that help her classmates get alone with each other and that they got really used to her in the movie and that they really liked her and in the middle of the book they came up on donations and stared going on filed trips and having all different type of people coming to see them.  When they was reading a book it was a book about girl that grew up in the ghetto and she was around a lot of  gang members and the book that the young readers read. In the book they was getting good at reading they started getting good grades and that stared to be successful and the book. Eva was brave when she went to court in stood up for the blacks and said that he the one who shot the guy that was at the gas station she over came her fear of being who she is. In this story people was not scared to speak not scared of anything but only the thing that was around them.

I think these book is for a lot of people to read because people need to get over there fears and that they been successful and they became a good class they been hard workers for there hard work they have been in and doing for there teacher Mrs.G threw out the book and became thr FREEDOMS WRITERS they are threw out the movie and the book they became successful for there work.

The Freedom Writers Diary

Another book I’ve read is the Freedom writers by Erin Gruwell. This book is about troubled teenagers that are in among a war between gangs throughout their school. They believe everyone seems to give up on them, that’s until Mrs. Gruwell arrives.

Mrs. Gruwell really believes that her class could be way more then they proceed to carry themselves. She begins to have them write in these journals, everyone thinks there’s no point to it...  But they begin to read and write and work together effectually.

I would give these book 5 stars because it really shows you how important getting an education is. And how foolish gang violence is.

The Freedom Writers Diary

The FreedomWriters Diary is a great non-fiction/memoir book. The authors are the Freedom Writers, and their teacher Mrs. Gruwell. It is in letter format, and it has entries from the freedom writers throughout their high school career.

Everything they say, and you read truly happened. Their friends get killed, their family went to jail. A lot of terrible things happened in their lives. Their teacher Mrs. Gruwell, or Erin Gruwell, helped the students push through their tough times, and Preserver. She helps the freedom writers find ways to take out the anger. Mainly, through writing. The students come love, and respect, worship, and love their English teacher. She is probably the most loved person. That’s because most of the students have been abandoned by their parents.

She helps them learn by bringing in guest speakers, and taking them on field trips. Some of the guest Speakers are Zlata Filipovic, the author of the diary of Zlata Filipkov, and Meip. Who is the lady who hid Anne Frank, her family, and the family of Anne’s father’s friend. The field trip is Washington D.C. She also takes them to a holocaust museum so they can learn what the holocaust was, and why it is a very important piece of history.

Mrs. Gruwell was a great influence on the freedom writers. I would say that this book for people who like writing. The book tells a true story of the life of Teenages that live in “the Hood”. People who like to read true stories, or people who like books in letter format. I think this was a great, inspirational book. Definetly a great read!

The Freedom Writers Diary

The book I have read is Freedom Writers. By the Freedom Writers, and put together by their teacher Mrs. Erin Gruwell. In the book all of the freedom writers share their stories and what is going on their lives. All of the problems and what they think of each of the class. Mrs. Gruwell is trying to help her students with the difficulties in their lives. She and her husband also run in to problems of their own and she deals with her issues and her student’s issues.

The story is about the freedom writers and their adventures around the US. Mrs. Gruwell is trying to teach other grades so she can stay with her “Kids” and she is spending so much time with them that something very unexpected happens and she must get through it and help her students get through high school. She is like no teacher anybody has ever had. To them she is their mother and has taken the role of a very important figure to her students.

I recommend this book; everybody should know the story of the freedom writers and how they changed the way schools works. They have made it so anybody can be friends. They can all have the same opportunities and they can all be in the same room. The only problem I have with this book is that you don’t know who is talking or writing. There is no identification of who is who.

The Freedom Writers Diary

Have you ever had a time when you just want to stand up and make a difference in the world? Explain an idea of yours that you’ve been dying to explain your full life? Share secrets with people who you know you can trust? Well in The Freedom Writers Diary you read about real life kids who took those thoughts of making a difference in the world, and they made them a reality.

In The Freedom Writers Diary, the story is written in diary entries by the Freedom Writers themselves. The diary entries start in freshman year of 1994 at Wilson High School in Long Beach, California. It is Ms. Gruwell’s first year teaching and it is also the first year after school integration laws have been passed. On the first day when Ms. Gruwell enters her class she notices the diversity of her classroom and how other people are treating each other.  She passes out notebooks to all of the students and tells them to do a daily diary entry about anything and everything that they would like. This is where the story of The Freedom Writers truly begins. The book is setup in diary entries to keep all of the authors anonymous and to help show how different all of their stories really are. Because of all of the diversity of the stories and everything you learn about these teens the book holds the reader and makes it almost impossible to put the book down.

The first entry in the book talks about how no one believes that Ms. Gruwell will last more than a month at Wilson High School. But from there all of the students change their minds about Ms. Gruwell. They learn that she will never give up on them, no matter what happens. Throughout their freshman year all of the students begin to learn that they can accept each other and that none of them are really that different. The book then moves on to sophomore year where the students join together to bring two of the most important people they have read about, to them.

After Ms. Gruwell wins the right to continue teaching her students after their sophomore year the story continues from there all the way to the day of their graduation in senior year. Over the years many more students join the Freedom Writers and help to accept everyone that they meet, no matter what they’ve been through or who they are.

I recommend this book to others to read because of the great meaning and message of the book. The book truly changes your life after you’ve read it in many ways. No matter who you are, this book is a must read for teens all over the world. Because the book is set up in diary entries, it makes the book a very quick and interesting read. There is never a dull moment in the book and you may never want to even put down the book. I rate this book a 10/10 because of how easy of a read it is and also how important and controversial the topics of each diary entry are. If you haven’t read it yet, I strongly recommend doing it soon. It will change your life and give you a whole new perspective on what you can do to make a change in the world!

Freedom Writers Diary

I read the book Freedom Writers.  It is a book that is made up of diary entries from students that were considered “at-risk” or “unteachable” and their new teacher. These students were placed in a new class and they all came from different backgrounds and really clashed with each other. Mrs. Gruwell had to come up with ways to make the students get along and open up more. Because the school refused to give Mrs. Gruwell the materials she needed, she decided to have them write in their own diaries. Some of the diary entries include what it is like to live on the street, gang involvement, to witness murder, and what it is like to think you don’t belong. In addition to writing the diary entries she taught them about historical events such as the Holocaust and the war in Bosnia. These examples demonstrated that these students were not the only ones who have experienced similar situations. By exposing them to these situations, Mrs. Gruwell, helped the students gain trust and were able to come to trust each other. Some main themes throughout the book include discrimination, racism and dedication. Mrs. Gruwell gave up her time, money and marriage to try and help these students.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a book that grabs your attention. I liked the way it was written in diary form and how it always made me want to read more.  My favorite part of the book was when Ava testified in court and she was able to tell the truth, so the innocent man could walk free. It made me feel fortunate to know that I will never be in that situation.

In the end this book was a great reading experience. It opened my eyes and showed me that I could relate past times with modern day issues. I am very thankful for having the life that I have with a family who loves and cares for me. It’s hard to believe that kids my age have to deal with such horrific situations.
