The Blood of Olympus

The Blood of Olympus is the last book in "The Heroes of Olympus" series by Rick Riordan, the author of the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series.

Fortunately, The Blood of Olympus is just as good (if not better) than Riordan's previous books, and it is a great one to end the series with. Side Note: I apologize for how much of the plot and story I must leave out in this review to avoid spoilers.

The seven Greek and Roman heroes (Annabeth, Percy, Jason, Piper, Hazel, Frank and Leo) are on their way to the Acropolis in Athens, Greece to stop the evil goddess Gaea from waking and destroying the Earth and all mortals on it. All of this as 3 other heroes (Nico, Reyna, and Coach Hedge) must return to the U.S.A as fast as possible to prevent a war between the Greek and Roman camps; of course while being chased by a (literal) giant Marksman; "The hunter who never rests" (Riordan 33).  This book (and the rest of the series for that matter) is a fun adventure all the way through and never fails to hold the reader's attention. The series as a whole has a great way of expressing it's 3rd person omniscient POV by having each alternating chapter with a different view/character; this style of writing is executed wonderfully. It is easy to recommend this book to any reader who loves a sense of adventure and doesn’t mind some learning about ancient mythology (which by the way is fun to learn about from Riordan). The Blood of Olympus (and the rest of the series) deserves to be read immediately.
