Where the Red Fern Grows

With an old classic like this I knew I would enjoy this.

With a classic tale made from the one who made “Old Yeller” and “The Incredible Journey”, his name is Wilson Rawls with the book called were the Red Fern grows. This is about two dogs and a boy with a dream. After learning that there were dogs for sale, Billy Jefferson goes out to pay and take the two dogs of his with him home. Old Dan and Little Ann were the names of these pups, and soon it began with them going through obstacles and learns from them. To me this Story has a good sense of perseverance and never giving up.

Were the Red Fern grows first-person novel about a greatly told story. The atmosphere is told so brilliantly about how hunting gave a great life span for people in the eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas. This brilliantly made story got published in 1961 and took to kids real fast after that. The story took over about a kid who soon bought two pups named Dan and Ann and soon these two dogs became his life and the combination of these two made a great team to hunt down coons. Soon enough people and other things would be obstacles for this boy and his two dogs, and every time they would push through. Each of these obstacles would have a climax and a falling action, including a rising action. It gave a great emphasis on the story and how the characters bonded. Even the other characters had an effect on these problems showing that these three characters spread a lot of relation with others.

The old tale that Wilson Rawls made up gave a big effect on kids today and in other old generations. I felt like I had a great time with this. The words and phrases showed a lot of the atmosphere and gave a great feel for the books starting, middle, ending of it showing that there was a future and a past (witch a lot of the story took place). If anything took away from this story was some misspelling and sentences, from how old it is I wouldn’t doubt that. For me I would recommend this to a little kid or a teen of my age more for those who like the olden days when hunting took a lot in sports. It still can impress an adult though and if any old timer has never read this book, well give them a tip on it (Read it). The reasons come across me having to see how heartwarming it is to so many people and how it takes a lot of bravery to keep reading this fantastic tale. The main morals and thoughts of this narrative give a lot of pride too many readers today thinking how some mastermind thought this story up to boost a moral that gives use teens a big step from middle school to high school. My rating of this book would be to tell everyone about it.
