I have read Batman Nightfall: Volume 1. This is a collection of
many comics from the Batman series (comic #1-20) in one book, so it is easy to
finish the story and not have to get every comic. The author is a whole D.C.
comics team, consisting of Alan Grant, Doug Moench, and Chuck Dixon. This book
is just one part of the other two volumes of Nightfall written by this team.
This story is about Bane- a young child born in a prison and
raised by hardcore criminals, that soon hears about a place called Gotham City,
New York and the man that is called The Batman. For decades, he becomes obsessed
with killing the Batman. He soon escapes prison and releases all the criminals
from Arkham Asylum- a maximum security prison that holds all of the world's worst
criminals. This book is about the Batman and Robin chasing down the worst
criminals, including Croc, The Riddler, The Joker, Anarky, and Scarecrow,
before finally reaching Bane in a one-on-one battle.
I really enjoyed the book. It was the best set of comics I've
ever read. The plot and characters came together very well. If you enjoy comic
books, stop what you are doing and go to the nearest comic shop and find this
volume of Nightfall.
