The Ranger’s Apprentice: The Burning Bridge is an adventure
and action packed book, much like its predecessor The Ruins of Gorlan. This
book is sure to have you reading on and on.
Halt and Will are chasing a group of wargals, suspecting
that they are hunting somebody. They find four wargals chasing a man, kill the
wargals after they kill the man, and find battle plans from Morgarath in the
man’s bag. Later, Gilan shows up in their house late at night on a mission to
the city of Celtica. Gilan, Will, and Horace set off to Celtica, and are
surprised with what they find. They find Celtica empty, and Gilan goes to
inform the king. Alone, Will and Horace along with a survivor discover
something that could change the course of the war. Horace sets off to inform
the king of their discovery. In a twist of events, Will and Evalyn find
themselves in trouble. Meanwhile Halt, Gilan, and Horace are preparing for war.
I really enjoyed this book, because much like the book
before it, it is filled with action and adventure. It is filled with plot
twists, cliffhangers, and description, leaving you on the edge of your seat,
waiting to see what will happen next. The dialogue makes you feel as if though
you are in the story, and the action makes it seem more realistic. The Burning
Bridge is definitely a book worth reading.
