Titanic, by Gordon Korman. I took the books out of the library for only one reason:The title, which
represents its contents, is known by me, so I wouldn't be straight into a story
in which I could't understand in first place. But as the story went on, the
story turned out to be exciting and filled with action. When I finally finished
the last page of the novel, it seemed to be so different when I started the
book.
The four kids--Paddy--a stowaway,Alfie--a new crew member hiding a
secret,Sophie--forced on board after being arrested,and Juliana--daughter of a
rich Earl.Despite their great difference in backgrounds, they were going to
face the same destiny, which all of us know, except them.
Despite the novel was actually based on a historically true
event, which seemed to be boring judging from the name, the novel actually added
new elements to the event itself, which enables readers to find surprises and
climaxes in a story that they all have well known.
Escaping the ship was definitely a climax, which almost everyone
could imagine judging from the 3rd part titled: S.O.S. without even reading the
book. But that wasn't the only climax in the novel. Everything seemed to be all
well, when suddenly the world changed in that very second, no reader can ever
guess out what will happen next.
The novel shows bravery, sense of justice, and determination of
the four main characters, and also of their eager to helping each other when
one of the kids got in trouble. In general, this novel is filled with suspense,
action, but also, in some parts, makes the readers touched.
The novel is separated into 3 separate books: Unsinkable,Collision
Course and S.O.S.
