Under the Dome

The name of my book was called Under theDome. This story was written by Stephen King. This was my first book I’ve read from this author but he has a lot of other books out such as Misery and the shining. Stephen King is known to write these creepy stories such as Under the Dome, which is why he’s tremendous at it. This story has a little bit of a survival theme to it, because when you’re trapped under a dome made of something you don’t know what is your first move? People are fighting for basic necessities like food and water.

Under the Dome is about a small town in Maine named Chester’s Mill that one day a large dome collapses and nobody knows why or how. Cars at high speed crash into it. Planes fly into it. As it descended it took of a farmer’s hand. Some of the main characters in the story include Junior Rennie, James “Big Jim” Rennie, Julia Shumway, and Eric “Rusty” Everett. A lot of conflicts occurred while people are trapped under the dome like how people fighting for food, water, supplies and shelter, and how are people going to get out of the dome.

I found a few quotes that really intrigued me in this book. “Murder is like potato chips: you can’t stop with just one” (King 53). Or “If you can’t control your temper, your temper will control you” (King 203). I found a lot more quotes that were very intriguing but that gives you an idea of the kind of writing in this novel.

I liked this book very much. I personally like these kind of books where anything can happen next and you want to keep reading to find out. I extremely recommend this book to anyone who has free time on their hands or just someone who wants to read a good book.
