Holes

I read the book Holes by Louis Sachar. It's about a boy   Stanley Yelnats goes to camp called camp green lake. Camp green lake is juvenile detention facility in Texas, it's a place for kids who have committed crime. Stanley Yelnats was arrested for a crime he did not commit and he went on a bus to camp green lake.

Stanley was arrested because one day he was walking down another boy named Zero who was shoeless needed a pair of shoes, so he went to a auction to steal a famous pair of shoes they were Clyde “Sweet Feet” Livingston shoes a famous baseball player, so Stanley eventually got caught with the shoes. After a long and lonely Stanley met all of the supervisors but he got warned to watch out for Warden Walker.

Stanley's job though is to basically dig holes a certain amount of feet and width, but the lake is dangerous, it has yellow spotted lizards and there venom is so strong it can kill you.

Warden tells the tennagers to work hard and eventually facilitate their rehabilitation into society, but really she wants them to dig for a secret treasure that was stolen and hidden by infamous bandit Kate Barlow. But along the same guy who drop the shoes on him (Zero) helps him find there way out of camp green lake and on there way out they find the treasure and the y split the money.

In Conclusion, I really liked this book because it is adventure and I think the people who like adventure should read this book because most of it is in a lake where they are trying to escape. This is a great book I really the people who are looking for a book to read really should try this one out.

  1. I agree that this book is really good. I have read it a couple of times myself and do suggest it to other people. My favorite part was the ending where Zero and Stanley found the treasure and were able to go home and at home they had all this money to buy stuff with. If you like reading stories with a good or happy ending, this is a book you should read.
