The book I read this time was “The Call” by Peadar O’Guilin,
it’s an horror fiction type of book that's about a girl named Nessa, who spends
most of her years growing up in a training school to survive and fight back the
Sídhe, an magical but deadly native tribe. Through out the years, she grew some
tension and conflict with other people as well. But all Nessa cared about was
living.
I haven’t read other works by Peadar O’Guilin, but I bet
it's good as this book because this is one of my favorites.
A lot of the characters were written really well, like Nessa
and Connor, both of their characters was really nice and the dynamic between
the characters is honestly really interesting. The story plot, and the whole
Sídhe is really cool as well! I really love the concept of the Sídhe and how
they’re like magical beings but they’re also dangerous and powerful as well.
I loved the book, really I do. It has such a really creepy
and morbid concept of the world and the Sídhe, the characters are nicely
written to the point where I kinda got attached to most of them too. I’d say this
book is for mature and older audience due to the gore, and body horror. (Also
cussing, it has a little bit of that.)
You really should read it, if your into creepy and fictional
stuff. It's well written and has a creepy atmosphere to it as well! Read it if
you really into dark, morbid and creepy stuff like I am.
Book Review by Zoe L.
This book seems very interesting, and I think I might like it because I am really into books that just this! I like books that give off a dark and creepy vibe. I'm also really interested in the tribe you mentioned the “Sídhe”. It sounds like a very interesting tribe name and tribe. Also, the book cover just grabs my attention because of the little text underneath the title: “3 minutes to save your life”.
