Chicago

I've being reading the book call “Hoop City Chicago” by Sam Moussavi. Sam have a lot of books written about sports especially basketball. I read a book by Sam Moussavi last trimester and it was really good is call “Hoop City Los Angeles City” and is one of my favorite sports books. In the book “Hoop City Chicago” is about a boy name serge, in this book Sam talk about serge struggles in Africa, and his new environment which he move to because of his game.

Serge got recruited from Sudan to come and play for a high school team in Chicago. Serge have a bright future ahead of him, but his experience in the U.S and his past in his homeland it will be a struggle for him. How will serge preserved? Serge had hard time fitting in. His teammates are skeptical of his skills and do not fully bring him in their circle. How will serge fit in? Will serge hard time growing up in Africa without a dad help him or after what happened in the store in America?

I love this book because I can understand and relate to serge pain and struggles coming from Africa to the United state is a whole different ball game. But Serge problems is a lot serge lost his dad and his brother. Serge life in Africa was miserable his family was poor serge use to live in a village. In Africa is mostly soccer that is play not basketball but things have change people and kids are gravitating to basketball too, serge dad hated the fact that he use to play basketball because not to many people who play basketball in Africa make it to the NBA. Serge coming to America was fun and sad at the same time Chicago brought the memories back when his dad and his brother got kill. Serge went to school he became a starter his mom survived in the end. Serge have bigger dreams he want to make it to the NBA one day. A lot of people will love and relate to this book this book because it talk about life in Africa and also sportsmanship in Africa. Sam talk about the difficulties and gun violence in Chicago.

I love this book and you guys should check it out because this book is meaningful. This book will teach you how pass the stage off depression. This book talk about gun violence in Chicago which is a big deal today. This book is fun and you will love. This book actually inspired me and I think it will inspire you guys so go and check it out.
