Loch

The book I have read was “Loch” by Paul Zindel. Other books that Paul had written was “Raptor”, “Rats”, “Bats”, etc. His books are all about adventures and other species. If you enjoy reading about adventure and animals/dinosaurs, I recommend you to read his books and series. I have read only one book from Paul and I am planning on reading more because I am an adventurous person and find comfort in reading intriguing stories. Paul’s books are from the 1960’s to the 1990’s. These books may be old, but they are still fascinating and interesting to read about because they hold a lot of exciting events. Paul Zindel was an American playwright, young adult novelist, and an educator. Paul has been writing books ever since the 1960s as a young adult. All of Paul Zindel’s novels are similar to each other and they are based on living creatures including adventures. His novel “Loch” was simply an interesting yet amazing novel. It contained a lot of details about landscapes and creatures. The landscapes are so realistic that you can hear waterfalls everywhere, you can hear the lake swirling, and you can hear the car wheel putting pressure on the rocks of the roads. Feeling need to protect endangered species, this story presents a journey of a boy who saves innocent species that isolates themselves to defend their kind against a rich explorer who wants them dead.

Fifteen year old Luke Perkins, received his nickname “Loch” since he claimed to have seen a Loch Ness Monster as a young boy. People did not believe him, though they should've. Now as a teen near Lake Champlain, adults again are not taking him seriously. Until Cavenger, a rich explorer who researched about their existence. This research that Cavenger had discovered, originally gathered by Mr. Perkins, a scientist and father of Loch stated that the lake was inhabited by great beasts called “Pelsiosaurs” also known as The Loch Ness Monsters. One typical day, Loch and Zaidee (his sister) went to the lake in the middle of the night. They saw a baby pelsiosaur. Zaidee came up with a nickname for it, she nicknamed it Wee Beastie. Loch agrees to call it Wee Beastie. Sarah (Cavenger’s daughter) wanted to help them with their journey to help Wee Beastie and his family to escape from Cavenger and his crew mates. Now that Cavenger knows about their existence, he is putting a bounty on them because he wants them dead so they can be on a museum. You will have to read the book to figure what happens next. Trust me, this book won't waste your time.

If I was to rate this book from 1 star to 5 star, I'll rate this book a 5 star because this book is amazing yet interesting. This book has a lot of details, it perfectly portray the landscape and the mountains. The books are written for people who loves adventures and creatures. I think all readers would love it because if I was able to enjoy it, so will other readers too! This book is worth your time because it is fascinating and is the best book I have ever read. I recommend this book for high schoolers only because it had some hard words that I couldn't even pronounce. This book and medium for me. It's not too hard and it's not too easy, it's like just the perfect reading level for me. What would happen if Loch Ness monster really existed? What would you do if it had a baby and that baby were being threatened by people who wanted it dead?
