The book I'm reading is Catharsis by Ahniki. The book is
about a young man named Leon who is in his teens that has been able to see
sound in colors as long as he could remember and is plagued by nightmares every
time he goes to sleep regardless of whether it's day or night. In these
nightmares he's always finds himself as a different person being chased by this
creature in absolute darkness with a bloody, dark, crimson red voice. However,
a recent event occurred causing him to question his reality.
On his way to deliver food for the store that he works for,
Leon rushes to get up to the fifth floor a of a tall building through an
elevator. Suddenly the elevator shuts down and everything goes dark for a
moment. Shortly after blaming his luck for all the misfortunes he had today,
the elevator starts heading up again and he makes it to the fifth floor. When
the doors slide open he instantly notices that the entire fifth floor is dark
with no lighting whatsoever. Leon then begins to question and doubt himself on
whether or not this is another nightmare as he didn't recall ever falling
asleep.
He then hears a familiar voice, Ms. Sarah, his customer who
he was supposed to give the delivery to was screaming somewhere for help. Some
time has passed, and he finds Ms. Sarah there on the ground somewhere in the
middle of the office on the fifth floor...there was a moment of silence, then
deep in the curtains of darkness came a vicious, demonic laugh stained with the
same color of red that Leon thought only existed in his nightmares. In a
sinister voice it said, “I FOUND you BOY!!!”. The bloody red voice seemed to
tower over him, but not as much as the huge skeletal face that smiled at him
with a twisted smile.
While trying to escape with Ms. Sarah he was knocked
unconscious and woke up to seeing the man that he was in his most recent
nightmare in front of him. Now with his world warped inside out, Leon has to
fight in order to find out the truth behind his nightmares and the monsters in
them, but can his mind handle the truth? The truth that is the horrors of his
past which he has locked away deep within the ever changing labyrinth of his
subconscious.
