In the book Death at Devil’s Bridge by Cynthia Defelice,
which is one of some other great suspenseful/mysteries books she has written.
Threw the story you follow thirteen year old Ben Daggett and everything that
happens to him over his summer and how far he goes to get one friends approval.
It's the beginning of summer and Ben got his first job as
first mate on a fishing charter boot. While on his first day of work he spots
something weird in the water, the ruff of a car! The driver is missing and
Donny is in town and stuff always happens when Donny is around. Ben and his
best friend Jeff find themselves in a world they surely don't want to be apart
of and try to get but find out that's easier said than done.
This book is one of the best books I've read in a long time
and highly recommend it for anyone who loves a good suspense. It's definitely a
message to teenagers to show that no matter how good you are one wrong decision
can change your world forever. It's plotted so well that throughout the book
it's hard to figure out what will happen next and keep you reading to the end.
So if you need a book to read for a class or just want a book to read, go and
check out this book.
