Sisters/Hermanas

The book “Sister s/Hermanas” by Sara Paulsen, this book Gary Paulsen was translated from English to Spanish.

This called my attention because of the title and I wondered what was the book about. When I see it it was interesting and dramatically.

This book is about these two girls who lives in different places, different lives and different situations economic. One is the poor girl, Rosa, a fourteen year old Mexican girl who always hope that her dreams came true. To be a model. But Rosa can not do it because she needs to learn how to read, write, and speak English, well she's in the American territory and she must understand what the reality say. Rosa work in the nights to make money, for herself.

And Traci, it's a rich girl, who want to be the unique and popular cheerleader. She had everything, money, education, etc. She try to be that cheerleader with the supposedly help of her mother. But one day Rosa and Traci will meet in a different way.

When I read the book, I felt like I was reading a Span-glish book. I think this book it's special for those who can't speak the English so well and Spanish as well, I mean this book will understand words in Spanish and English. It's kind of interesting but it's dramatic too. I recommend this book for anyone who can't speak or understand English and it's not that hard to read both sides.
