The book I read was Trash by Andy Mulligan. He has written
The Boy with 2 Heads, Ribblestop, Ribblestop Forever, and Return to Ribblestop.
His other books are nothing like Trash, they are more comedy-horror while Trash
is adventure and a little suspenseful. Trash is about two boys that work at a trash
site and dig for things they can sell. One day they find something and it
changes their lives. The theme to me is trust and loyalty.
Raphael, Gardo, and Rat are Dumpsite Boys. They live in a
Third World country called Behala. They live in the poorest part of the city
and pick up trash to make a living. One day Rapheal finds something very
important. It is so important that the police are looking for it. Even though
the police are willing to give a huge reward, he keeps it hidden and pretty
soon it leads him and his friends on and adventure to solve a mystery with
horrible consequences if they are caught. “My name is Raphael Fernandez, and I am a
Dumpsite Boy. People Say to me, “I guess you just never know what you’ll find!
- sifting through rubbish. Maybe one day you’ll find something nice”. Then one
day I did.” (Mulligan, Pg. 3)
I would really recommend this book to others. I would recommend
it because it is a mystery/adventure book that will keep you very interested to
find out what happens next. If you like mystery, adventure, and messed up
societies then you will like this book. Read and find out for yourself.
Book Review by Matthew D.
This book seems very different, but I think it looks cool. The book looks like a adventure book that leads to something good at the end. In this book it looks like it will keep you reading tell the end. Thanks Mathew I will read this book this summer
