If I Stay

This is Kennedy and I just finished the book If I Stay by Gayle Forman!  If I Stay has a sequel, which is called Where She Went;  I can’t wait to read it!  Some other books Gayle Forman wrote are: I Was Here, Just One Day, Just One Year, Just One Night, Sisters In Sanity, and You Can't Get There From Here.  I haven’t read any of Gayle Forman’s other books so I am not sure what they are all about, but I am sure these books are really good because If I Stay was awesome!  If I Stay takes you on a journey through Mia’s past memories and through Mia’s thoughts on how she will decide her future of whether she lives or not.  The theme for If I Stay is to enjoy your life while you have it because anything can happen that can put it to an end!

If I Stay is about a girl named Mia who got hit by a car and went into a coma.  However, she can see everything going on around her because she is like a ghost out of her body watching everything around her.  Later, she finds out that she has to decide whether or not she wants to live and wake up or die.  “I realize now that dying is easy.  Living is hard” (Forman 175).  Mia has many things to consider in choosing whether or not to live.  Read this book to find out what she chooses.  Some of the characters in the book include Mia the main character, Kim her best friend, Adam Mia’s boyfriend, Teddy Mia’s brother, and her parents.

I thought If I Stay was a really good book.  I would rate it an 8 out of 10 because the book is very interesting; it makes you wonder what you would choose if you were Mia.  If you like love stories, young-adult fiction, or tragic books, you would like If I Stay.  I recommend reading If I Stay because it is an amazing book.

  1. I think this would be a good book to read. It doesn't sound like it has a lot of action, which would be a downside, but I still think it would be suspenseful. I think it's an interesting idea for a story; it's unique and different from other stories in it's genre. This reminds me of one of the books I read for my review, Everafter, which is told from the point of view of a girl who just died as she goes through the memories of her life.
