My book report is on Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth
Pfeffer. She has over 45 books, three of which are sequels to this book. This
is the other books in its series:
The Dead and the Gone
This World We Live In
(http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6393972-this-world-we-live-in)
The Shade of the Moon
These three books are the continuation of the one I’m
reviewing from different points of view/ continuation of this. She also has
other books, but they range from children picture books to young adult. Life as
We Knew It is about a family trying to survive a crisis after an asteroid hit
the moon.
The book is a 16 year old girl named Miranda Evans. Just a
regular teenager in a small town in Pennsylvania. Her
life is normal, she has an older and younger brother named Matt and Johnny and
her mother. She also has regular teenage problems like her two friends who like
her but hate each other. But once an asteroid hits the moon it all turns to
chaos; people start racing to stores to get as much supplies as possible. The
world Miranda knew turns upside down. Next thing she knows schools, stores, and
even restaurants are closing. This is a book that truly lives up to the
survival nature as Miranda is stuck through bitter winters, starving days,
natural disasters, and more. One thing truly is in the mind: How will she
survive?
I recommend this book, especially
to people who love survival type books. It is intriguing with the detail and
the drama in every page making it a true masterpiece. It truly made me worried that
this will actually happen and I wanted to go to the store and grab all the
canned goods I could find! So what are you waiting for? Go read the book!
