Black Ice

Introduction
Black Ice is written by Becca Fitzpatrick. She also wrote the Hush Hush Saga: which includes Hush Hush, Crescendo, Silence, and Finale. While those books are in a series, Black Ice is not a part of that series. On their way up to back pack the Tetons, Korbie and Britt get stuck in a blizzard. When seeking shelter, two men allow them to wait out the storm with them. The two fugitives take the girls captive, and make them lead them down the mountain. Britt decides to play the safe card, and bargains to keep Korbie at the cabin in exchange for her to lead them by herself. They stop at abandoned cabins on their way down. The only thing worse, is that she discovers these abandon cabins, were where three other girls were murdered. She needs to stall until her ex- boyfriend, Calvin, can find her.  Unfortunately, she feels attracted to one of her captors, Mason.  Is he really the bad guy?

Summary
Spring break comes around, and Britt Pfeiffer has decided to go backpacking the Teton Range, with her friend Korbie. On their way up to the cabin, Idlewilde, a blizzard hits, and strands Britt and Korbie half way in between home and the cabin. They decide to seek shelter by using the map they took from Calvin, Britt’s ex-boyfriend, and Korbie’s older brother. When they stumbled across a cabin two men let them inside to wait out the storm together. They take the girls as hostages, and decided to force them to lead them down the mountains. Britt knows that Korbie would be safer if she didn’t come at all, so she lies when she says Korbie has diabetes. The men take Britt, and leave Korbie behind. Britt has to fight the freezing weather, lead her captors down the mountain, and stay alive until Calvin can find her. Britt leads by using the map, and stumble upon two abandoned cabins where two girls have already been murdered. All she has to do is survive until Calvin comes, and rescues her, right? She catches herself being attracted to Mason one of her captors. How can one of her captors be so nice to her? The theme is that no one is who you make them out to be.

Analysis/Review

I would recommend Black Ice if you love to read about adventures and romances. If you love those, then you will like this book because of the dangerous adventure that leads to love. I would recommend it because I found myself not being able to put the book down, and it keeps you on your toes the entire story. I would encourage you to read this book even if it is not for another week or two because once you start reading it you won’t be able to stop.
