TUNNELS by Roderick Gordon
“Tunnels” is about a teenager, Will Burrows who thinks an
archeologist as himself, he loves exploring and learning about new things. When
he stumbles across an underground passage that leads him to a new area called
The Colony. There are many dark secrets that he learns about this place and why
he’s so intrigued in it. Will and his friend Cal go through many troubles to
complete their journey, like getting caught by the Colony police. Once they
hear about the big secret, they find themselves on another journey to see what
his father was on to.
The main character of the book is Will Burrows. He is 14
years old and gets the interest of archeologist from his father. He and his friend,
Cal go on many journeys to find the solutions to his problem. Will would like
to walk in the same foot steps as his father and he also looks up to his father
more than anyone else.
This book has a VERY slow start and is a better book for
smaller children. The only other problem is that it is a really long story and
might be a little boring. Other than that, this book is fascinating and
connects you to the characters. I personally liked this, but wish it started
the story off at a faster pace and wish it wasn’t so long.
