Midnight: A Gangster Love Story

The title of my book is Midnight a Gangster Love Story written by Sister Souljah. Sister Souljaha’s written the coldest winter ever, Midnight a gangster love story, Midnight and the meaning of love, a deeper loveinside. In this book sister souljah talks about a young Islam African boy from Sudan. Midnight tells you about the differences between his native country that he was born in Sudan and the ghetto rough hard street life of living in Brooklyn.

It all starts with Midnight's arrival in New York from Sudan.      Midnight is African born and a son of a wealthy Islamic African family. Midnight his mom Umma and his little sister Naja moved into the one of the worst neighborhoods in Brooklyn because his dad’s empire was attacked and it wasn’t safe for Midnight and mom also for his little sister. When midnight and his mom got to the place where you find out where you’re going to live if you’re an immigrant and also if you need to get your green cards to become a citizen.  When getting the green cards he realized that his mom had been insulted and from that point on he knew that he would have to defend himself and his family.         

             

The apartment that midnight and his mom Umma are in is the dirtiest nastiest project apartments in Brooklyn. It’s only reserved for the blacks especially for the ones who are really poor but it’s also for the black people who do actually have a little bit of money too. Midnight comes up with the idea for his mom to make a business just like back home. She would make handmade Sudan style clothes and he would sell them but not just to anybody. Midnight would first check the people out and then say if it was okay to sell stuff to them. Midnight he takes ninja classes. He also hustles for his mother so that way they can try to save enough money up so that way maybe he and his mom and sister can try to move out of the Brooklyn projects. He also falls in love and proves that you can really be in love just at the age of 14. Sister Souljah keeps her books very captivating and interesting.    

                                                                                       

Midnight a gangster love story is very engaging that’s one of the reasons why I like this book a lot. This book will keep you wanting more. I think that everybody should read this book. I don’t feel like it’s just for teenagers. I think that this book is for everybody around the world. If I read this book then that means that it’s really good. So go check it out and read it.
