The book that I have just finished reading is Seekers: LastWilderness. The authors name is Erin Hunter. Erin Hunter has also write the
Warriors series and the Survivor series. Personally I don’t like the Survivor
series. I could get in to it. The Warrior series is good. Lots of action filled
moments. In my opinion the Seekers books are the best that she has written. The
thing that makes Erin Hinter such a good writer is that you get attached to the
characters. When someone dies you feel like you knew them as well as all of their
friends and family members. Not all writers can make you feel like you are
apart of the family in the book. In this book Kallik, Toklo, Lusa, and Ujurak
make it to the Last Great Wilderness, but something doesn’t seem right. The
theme of this book is don’t judge a book by its cover. This is the theme
because there are people who live in the Last Great Wilderness. When the bears
first got there they thought the people where dangerous because all of the
other people they ran into tried to kill them, but these people where nice.
When the bears arrive at the Last Wilderness they start
exploring. After a while they start hunting because they are hungry. Toklo
comes up with the idea that Ujurak turns into a geese (he is a shape shifter)
and go into the middle of the flock then turn back into bear and catch some
before they all fly away. The plan didn’t work out. When Ujurak shape shifts he
has to fight to remember that he is a bear or else he stays the animal that he
turned into. While he is a geese he fly’s off with the flock and they fly about
3-4 miles. The other bears try to follow him but they lose sight of him and
just jog in the general direction the geese went. The geese land to eat and
Ujurak swallows a fish hook. He turns into a bear and all the geese fly off
then his friends find him and convince him to turn into a human so they can
take him to the doctor that lives in the little village in the Wilderness.
After a few days some people come and visit the village people and something
doesn’t seem right.
I liked this book because you are at the end of your seat
for the whole thing. This book is for people who like adventure and a little
bit of mystery. I started reading this series when I was in 5th grade so I
would say that 10 years and up are good ages to read this book.
