The book November Blues by Sharon Draper is one of the best
books I’ve ever read. Every book that she has written always has a plot twist;
she gives great suspense and never goes right into the problems of the
characters in her books. She shows a story in my eyes of what could possibly
happen to the other female teenagers out there in high school.
The book is about a teenage girl that gets pregnant and ends
up keeping the baby even though her boyfriend is no longer around. In the book
the characters are November, Novembers’ mother, Josh, Jericho, Dana, and Olivia.
These characters all have a story behind this book, but the one with the most
stories would be Jericho, he has so much pain and hurt behind his happy self in
the book
This book is more for females then male. It would mostly
reach out to high school female students because it’s about November having
difficult situations that most females could relate too. The book that I would
recommend to high school male readers would be “Tears of a tiger”. It would
have more effect towards the male readers than “November Blues”. But this book
doesn’t not only have an effect on people’s lives but gives those that might
have a similar story to this encouragement that they can do what’s best for
them not for others.
