Batman Knightfall, Volume 2: Knightquest

I have read Batman Nightfall, Volume 2: Knightquest. This is a collection of many comics from the Batman series (comic #21-40) in one book, so it is easy to finish the story and not have to get every comic. The author is a whole D.C. comics team, consisting of Alan Grant, Doug Moench, and Chuck Dixon. This book is the sequal to the first volume of Nightfall written by the same team.

Mentally defeated and physically broken, Bruce Wayne suffered a crippling blow while battling Bane. Now, the title of the Batman must be passed on to another, and Jean Paul Valley takes the opportunity to own Gotham City. But as the new dark knight slowly loses his grip on sanity, his idea of justice takes a violent and deadly turn. Witnessing this dangerous behavior firsthand, Nightwing and Robin try to come to grips with Bruce's highly controversial decision to come back from a severly broken back to become the Batman once again while the new Batman sets his sights on taking revenge against Bane. Along the way, Nightwing and Robin face the problems of still cleaning the streets from the Arkham Asylum break out and taking out the likes of the Joker, Anarky, and The Scarecrow, while still having to worry about Bane and their best friend and better enemy, Jean Paul.

I really loved the book. This was much better than Volume one, which is saying a lot considering my review of that. The plot and characters came together better than volume one and the final battle between Jean Paul and Bruce Wayne was awesome! If you enjoy comic books, stop what you are doing and go to the nearest comic shop and find the sequal to the first volume of Nightfall.
