The Freedom Writers Diary

The book I have read is Freedom Writers. By the Freedom Writers, and put together by their teacher Mrs. Erin Gruwell. In the book all of the freedom writers share their stories and what is going on their lives. All of the problems and what they think of each of the class. Mrs. Gruwell is trying to help her students with the difficulties in their lives. She and her husband also run in to problems of their own and she deals with her issues and her student’s issues.

The story is about the freedom writers and their adventures around the US. Mrs. Gruwell is trying to teach other grades so she can stay with her “Kids” and she is spending so much time with them that something very unexpected happens and she must get through it and help her students get through high school. She is like no teacher anybody has ever had. To them she is their mother and has taken the role of a very important figure to her students.

I recommend this book; everybody should know the story of the freedom writers and how they changed the way schools works. They have made it so anybody can be friends. They can all have the same opportunities and they can all be in the same room. The only problem I have with this book is that you don’t know who is talking or writing. There is no identification of who is who.
