Paper Towns is written by
New York Times best-selling author John Green. He has also written many other
successful books, Looking for Alaska, The Fault in Our Stars and An Abundanceof Katherines. Greens style stays mostly the same in all of his other
books. In this book the main character ‘Q’ goes on an adventure to find his
neighbor that ran away. He really try’s to say that there is always more to
people then what we think, we never really completely know someone.
This book focuses on a teenage boy named Quenitn “Q” Jacobson who is hopelessly
in love with his neighbor Margo Roth Spieglman. One night she sneaks in to his
room to take him on an adventure to right those who wronged her in the past few
weeks. The next morning when Q arrives at school he notices Margo’s car isn’t
parked in its usual spot, and neither is it the next day, or the day after
that. Margo hasn’t been seen since the night with Q. She always leaves clues
for someone to find her and this time she has picked clues for him to follow.
As Q is on this search he discovers more about himself, what it means to be a
good friend and who Margo even really was.
This book is definitely worth your time and is not a book that you can put down easily. Green keeps you intrigued and makes the book surprisingly relatable to anyone reading. Green’s writing style along with the suspense that gets added up over time makes the book imposable to put down. Anyone who needs a good read or is going through something and need someone to relate to them should pick up this book, you won’t regret it..
