Clockwork Angel

The book I read was Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. It is the first book in her prequel series The Infernal Devices which tells events that happened way before the events in the main series The Mortal Instruments. This book tells you about Tessa Gray who goes from the U.S. to the U.K. to be able to find her brother, Nathaniel.

Tessa thought she was just a normal girl in a normal world. Then she traveled to the U.K. to find her brother, whom had gone missing somehow. Once she arrives, she meets the Dark sisters who were sent to pick her up. They then head to the building where the sisters live. As days go by they try and get Tessa to reveal her talent/power which is that she can change into a person as long as she is wearing something that person owned like clothes, jewelry, etc. She tries to escape one day but they catch her and bring her back inside and continue on bringing out her “talent”. She is all here because the Magister, whose real name isn’t revealed at the moment, wants to marry her, but Tessa refuses. Then one day will Herondale and other Shadowhunters (demon hunters) rescue Tessa from the mansion whilst killing one of the sisters in the process. The Shadowhunters then take Tessa back to The Institute in London and Tessa starts to wonder what’s going on. She learns, as the months pass, more about herself and the whole Shadowhunter world and bout vampires, faeries, werewolves, etc. The rest you will have to read to find out more.

I liked the book a lot because has an interesting plot to it and you can create images in your head from the start. It is a very good read, I encourage you to read this book and the rest of the series. Also, check out the main series and learn more about the Shadowhunter’s world in The Mortal Instruments.
