Leon Leyson is the author of "The boy on the woodenbox", It's kind of like a biography but at the same time it's not because
it's telling the story from Leon Leyson. This author has been through a lot and
has shared his moments of the holocaust era.
This story is about a little boys experience in the
holocaust. He and his family's lives in a village in Poland but soon migrated
to Kraków at the age of eight. When the Germans invaded where they were at
Leon's dad and his older brother Hershel went back to their hometown because
the father thought it would be a much safer place leaving his family. How are
they going to get food or money? His father either decides to go back to their
hometown or go back and stay with Leon's and his mother and brother. Leon works
for a German owner that owns a factory. His name is Oskar Schindler, he plays a
really important role later on.
There's many versions of many survivors out there but this
one is amazing. This book is really awesome and even intense at times. If
you're feeling like you're having a bad time well think again, because in this
story the author Leon leyson survived and suffered what has been known to be
the most tragic thing that has happened in world history, the holocaust.
Book Review by ChueFue L.
I have read a book previous like this one and it was called " Between Shades of Grey" and it was an amazing memoir so I was wondering if this person's point of view is different from the book I have read and wonder if it can be that book. I was more into the actions and fantasy types but when reading this I fell in love and began to like history books. I would like to know more about his/ her point of view because in " Between Shades of Grey" it was the Russians that was doing the killing of millions of people and in this book it says that the Germans are killing many millions. So I was wondering if his/her Pinot of view is going to be different and try to capture my attention with many details that may put images inside my head or just not as much details as " Between Shades of Grey
