Life as we knew it is first book of this series written by
Susan Beth Pfeffer. Other books include. Dead and the gone, The world we live
in and the shade of the moon. Also there is a fifth in the series coming soon.
You are reading a girl's journal named Miranda. Miranda lives in a small town
in Pennsylvania with her mother, older brother Matt and her younger brother
Johnny. Life as we knew it is a emotional apocalypse survivor book.
It's the end of Miranda’s sophomore year in high school.
Hearing conversation friends Sammy and Megan. Apon Miranda hears reports of
meteor on collision course with the moon. Miranda keeps this adventure all in
her diary. But when the meteor hits, the impact pushed the moon so close that
it blocks out the sun light and you can see every little detail of the moon.
Moon so close to earth the moon is causing worldwide tsunami,
earthquakes, volcanic eruption and extreme weather. Along with food,
electricity, heating and gas shortages. Miranda, mom, Matt and Johnny have
uncomfortable limited options to survive.
I like this book because it can show a possible and
frightening effects of the near future worldwide effects if the moon was any
closer to earth. I would like to recommend this book to anyone who likes sci fi
or likes a moving story about a family living in this situation. If looking for
book series that will make you think about what would you do if the world was
like this. And this only is just the beginning.
