Full Metal Alchemist

The book I chose is Fullmetal Alchemist, the author and illustrator is Hiromu Arakawa. I'll be talking about vol. 21 and 20. She wrote another different book but I can't go on it so I don't know how I'm gonna compare the book Fullmetal Alchemist to her other books. But the this book Fullmetal Alchemist is about two brothers life, after their dad is gone and mom is dead, they wanted her back so them researched about alchemy and did an alchemical ritual which it's forbidden and a big taboo. After the ritual was over, the oldest brother Edward lost one of his arm and legs while his. Younger brother is only left with a soul. Edward used alchemy to drag the soul of his younger brother into a big armor so the younger brother won't leave him. Later on they be became a state alchemist to search for the legendary philosopher's stone to get their body back. A battle of rage begin when the president was found to be a humunculus, the colonel and the two brothers teamed up with the humans and took over the Capitol.

   

The vol. 20 and 21 of the book is about Mr. Hohenheim his past and the situation going on after Edward and Alphonse meet their dad. Back in 500 years ago Mr. Hohenheim was a slave in his country, a place where it looks like a desert, his people was take to do a blood test to create a humunculus (a creation of human personality, and a evil creation) in a flask to give the kind immortality. His name was given by the humunculus in the flask and alchemy. The day of giving the king immortality, the humunculus was able to trick the king and use the life force of all the people in the nation of Hohenheim race. The humunculus gave half the power he received from the human life force to Hohenheim and then fly off to a different place. Mr. Honhenheim had live for 500 years with his immortality power. On vol. 21 it's all about how Edward seeing his dad again when he went into hiding because of the war that is coming up, a lot of things happened, he found his younger brother on the way to a small village. They fought a humunculus and won so all of them headed to the Capitol to take over. But the war is still going on.

I like this book it's pretty interesting because there are many mysterious secrets that hasn't been found out, one of the mystery that has been solve is when the two brothers were researching for the legendary stone and didn't know that it's made out of human's life force. Another one is that the president of the Capitol is a humunculus. This book mostly contain pictures but it has a lot of details just so we get what the situation is going on. I don't know who's this book for but in my opinion maybe people like me that like solving mystery or whoever likes manga or watch anime might like it. If you are a person who likes anime, epic fights, solving mysteries then please read this book but if you don't I suggest you don't read it at all because you might not like it.
