Champion

I read Champion, by Marie Lu. Marie Lu has also written many books, such as Prodigy, Legend and The Rose Society. Champion is similar from her other books. In these books written by Marie Lu, such as this book, Champion, is a dystopian young adult novel and the third and final book in the Legend trilogy by novelist Marie Lu. In this book it tells about the life of a guy named “Day”. His health has been fluctuating due to a rare disease that affects his hippocampus (given to him when he was used as a test subject), the cause of his painful headaches throughout the books. The Republic wishes to experiment on Day's little brother Eden. The basic plot of the book is Eden is a threat of a purge to the republics and the republic wishes to experiment on him but Day does not let (because of his experiences from the experiment, which has caused him to be on his deathbed with only maybe 2 months to live). Chaos erupts and 3 prisoners who wish to capture Eden escapes from the Denver Prison- two of whom are Commander Jameson and Thomas. Day, June, and Eden are ushered into an underground bunker to wait for a subway to a safer city. Much to Day's anger, only the city's wealthy people (with a small handful of the poor who clean up after them) are in the bunker. And More chaos breaks out …

It's major theme is, well there was so many themes! Loyalty was a huge one. There was hope. Another theme was persistence. Another theme was trust. So the major theme? I'd say hope.

In this book it explains about June and Day, they have sacrificed so much for the people of the Republic and each other and now their country is on the brink of a new existence. June is back in the good graces of the Republic, working within the government’s elite circles as Princeps-Elect, while Day has been assigned a high-level military position.

But neither could have predicted the circumstances that will reunite them: just when a peace treaty is about to be settled, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colonies, and war threatens the Republic’s border cities. This new strain of plague is deadlier than ever, and June is the only one who knows the key to her country’s defense. But saving the lives of thousands will mean asking the one she loves to give up everything.

The central idea or theme of the book is.. Well I'd have to choose between Loyalty and trust. For example: Day trusts the caretaker Lucy to watch over Eden while Day is in the hospital and unable to watch his brother.

I suggest you to read this book SOON AS POSSIBLE because this book is very exciting, intense and very dramatic! You also should read it because I LOVED IT and I'm sure you will too!
