Little Cricket

The book I was reading was the Little Cricket by Jackie Brown. Jackie Brown has not written another book other than little cricket. But if she did wrote another book I think it will be awesome. I also think little cricket is an awesome book because it is an experience of how immigrant’s life is like and what they gone thru. It is like an adventure of of a 12 years old girl's life.

First of all the book talks about Kia’s life in laos and in the united state with her grandpa, grandma, her brother name Xigi and her mom. Kia’s dad died during the vietnam war and her grandpa helped fight on the united state side. Kia they all settled in a thai refugee camp, and they learned english because they were able to emigrant to America. But only three of them can go because there was a mistake, so the only three who can go is Kia, her grandpa and Xigi. When they arrive in the america they went and stay at a church that they can help you till you can make your own money. Kia and grandpa are selling vegetable for their business and they don’t know what Xigi do late at night till he comes home. So grandma and Kia’s mom is the only one left in the refugee camp but will come to the united state in a couple month. But will they make it to the united state and when Kia found out what Xigi was doing will it be something good or bad?

In my opinion about Little Cricket, I think it's a good story and I like it because it's an adventure and a life lesson. I think this book is written for others who like to learn about someone's life and a history for the hmong people to remember. People who will like to read this book is people who like adventure and non-fiction story. The people I think that will not like this book is the people who like fiction story, and a little bit more action. So if you will like to read this book read it, it won't waste your at all, it is a awesome book and you will totally fall in love with it.
