Another book I’ve read is the Freedom writers by Erin
Gruwell. This book is about troubled teenagers that are in among a war between
gangs throughout their school. They believe everyone seems to give up on them,
that’s until Mrs. Gruwell arrives.
Mrs. Gruwell really believes that her class could be way
more then they proceed to carry themselves. She begins to have them write in
these journals, everyone thinks there’s no point to it... But they begin to read and write and work
together effectually.
I would give these book 5 stars because it really shows you
how important getting an education is. And how foolish gang violence is.
Book Review by Omunique G.
I agree with what Omunique said because Mrs. Gruwell changed many lives. She brought the talent and the darkness out of her students all by having them write in journals. This book had facts about how being in school can change you and how school is more important than the "streets". This book deserve more than 5 stars if possible. Everyone, no matter the age, size, gender, or race, should know that they are important and that they can succeed
